Discuss the relationship between at least TWO of the aspects shown in the diagram below and the way they contribute to Christianity as a living religious tradition The application of Christian ethics is a fundamental practice in an adherent’s life, assisting them in following God’s will. The most important representation of these ethics being used in practice is by the ultimate model of goodness, Jesus Christ. Jesus’ words and actions reflect the key foundations of ethical teachings, such as agape love, compassion, and unity, through which he encouraged adherents to live their lives by through his ministry. The presence of these key ethical teachings in modern society by pope johns attempts to reconnect adherents to the original teachings of jesus, has therefore made Christianity a living religious tradition. Ethical teachings highlight importance of unity within ones life. Unity is absolutely essential because the church is the “body of Christ” and a body cannot be in disunity or disharmony with itself. Adultery is prohibited in Christianity. The act of sexual intercourse is said to be between two people under the union of god, with the intention of creating life. In pope john XXIII’s encyclical Pacem in Terris he expresses this ethical teaching by stating “The family, founded upon marriage freely contracted, one and indissoluble, must be regarded as the natural, primary cell of human society. The interests of the family, therefore, must be taken very specially into consideration in social and economic affairs, as well as in the spheres of faith and morals”. Pope john XXIII applies the importance of this ethical teaching in his encyclical, which reinforces the importance of unity through marriage, as it is a part of the natural order between two people. By reinforcing the importance of family in marriage and why this important bond should not be broken, it therefore encourages adherents out of adultery. However, this encyclical has had
