The Positive and Negative Effects of Globalization

I believe globalization has brought forward positive aspects as well as negative aspects equally. However, the positive effects for one country can also result in a negative for another. Here are a few examples of how I see this happen, through globalization many economic opportunities are provided, this increases the standard of living for many; however these benefits are not worldwide and we continue to see that the wealthy are getting wealthier at the expense of others. Globalization benefits consumers by providing the best price possible through outsourcing goods around the world; this, however, takes business away from local companies and leaves many people without a job. Globalization impacts every area of American life: from the products we buy to the way we do things. One of the ways globalization affects individual communities is by making those communities more diverse. Globalization makes the migration of people, as well as products and stores, more possible. There are some negative aspects of globalization. For example, globalization makes it more likely that we will see less variety of stores. The proliferation of the same stores in every neighborhood, even throughout the world, makes for a more homogenized society. I see a Starbucks everywhere, as well as McDonalds. One impact of globalization that has both pros and cons is that English has become the predominant language. English enables people from different countries to communicate, but it also means that people in the English speaking countries have an advantage.

I believe that globalization brings more positive benefits and more negative consequences to the world. I believe that the negative consequences could be controlled. The reason is that I have a hope within humanity which we all want to accept other people and products in our principle. But often belief and Geo-political and economic interests twist our acceptances for others. I think that we should realize that why roman and Han China society collapsed.

As Aesop once said in his short story “The Four Oxen and the Lion”, “United we stand, divided we fall”. Globalization is a process in which countries and people all over the world interact with each other for economic, political, or cultural reasons. It can be seen as a way that has made everyone in the world united as one. Many people believe that globalization is a negative thing because it does not benefit everyone at all. However, I believe that the overall net outcome of globalization is positive because it has changed the direction of education, it has united humanity more than ever, and information and ideas are being shared to improve lifestyle. Almost like Aesop’s quote, a united world would be better than a divided one. Globalization has had a positive effect on the world due to its various outcomes that benefit humanity.

I think there are positives and negatives to globalization. As mentioned in the reading, globalization began in the 15th Century. While I didn't see it mentioned so far in the reading, the timing coincides with the invention of the printing press. I don't believe this is a coincidence. The printing press allowed for easier transfer of information, and as information is disseminated, either by force or choice, it is inevitable that that information will change the world

Over many years of trading between different people, goods from one region of the world can be employed and enjoyed in another. This process is called globalization. There are some negative connotations revolving around the word, but those are overpowered by all of its positive aspects. I believe globalization is good for society because it helps countries win wars, impacts the economy for the better, and spreads important technological advancements.

Globalization has been present for decades however it has predominantly become a more frequent process and has potential good and bad effects on the world of business. Problems can include competition in manufacturing jobs and unemployment in industrialized countries. However, this can also be beneficial in other situations as globalization gives you a larger market trade will be cheaper so more countries can import and export goods which can bring in profits to multi-national corporations.

Stabilized security of the economy depends largely on another country’s economy, which is why it is difficult to see countries coming after one another.
