I returned to San Diego State University six months after gaining successful treatment of my narcolepsy. I was determined to conquer the second semester of organic chemistry; a class in which I have a disconcerting historical record. With a rested and awakened state of mind I found myself comprehending the chemical reactions and enjoying molecular mechanisms that I had previously not understood. I successfully finished that course and a few others. Having managed my condition, I am capable of mastering difficult science curricula in the future. Participating in a postbaccalaureate program would allow me to continue this trend of success and strengthen my academic record. I expect the program to be rigorous, but I am excited by the challenge
Until about 2 years ago I was not quite sure what path I would choose for my future career, let alone what path I would choose when I arrived at college. I tended to be adept at subjects such as science and mathematics throughout my high school life, however I was never particularly fond of any one subject in particular. However, that changed my senior year of high school when I enrolled in AP Chemistry. I was intrigued by chemistry when I attended the pre-AP Chemistry course, however I was not particularly interested at that moment. However, AP Chemistry came with a plethora of hands-on experiments and procedures that existed to illustrate basic concepts of chemistry. Although it may sound mundane, I was amazed at some of the concepts we learned being implemented in front of our eyes, and I was especially
The NJCK program assists parents with childcare for infants, toddlers, preschool age children, school age children up to the age of thirteen (13), for children with special needs until the age nineteen (19). The child care subsidy through the NJCK program will assist parent(s) who is working a minimum of 30 hours or more or going to school fulltime with 12 credits a semester or in a 20-hour training program or a combination of both (working part-time/school part-time). The D.O.E. Wraparound program (Former Abbott) assist in paying before and aftercare for families residing in West New York, Harrison, Hoboken, Union City and Jersey City.
i-Ready seems to be a great technology that monitors students’ progress. I like that this diagnostic test provides a deep evaluation for every students and customizes each test to track the student’s growth and performance. i-Ready also keeps track of the students entire K-12 educational career, which is great because it accurately demonstrates the student’s progress in reading and mathematics from when they start school to when they complete high school. Educators can see exactly what level their student is on before they graduate and enter college. Not only does this tool show what each student need assistance in. The program also identify why the student is struggling and what can be done to fix the problem.
I became a part of the EOF because I like to study and work hard in the summer. This program is helpful because college is different than high school and in college I have to work harder and do all my best to pass the summer program with a good grade. This program will help us to do well in the fall semester and they support us with many things such as tutoring, academic skills workshops. The reason that I applied for the EOF is to get to know the college that I will go to and at the end of the program if I passed I will get college credits and that’s one of the things that I am looking forward to. The EOF is designed strengthen my preparation for college level and academic success.
Beech et al., (2013) have shown that the SOTMP program has lasting results. Both researchers
Being an immigrant in a country isn’t as compelling as many might think it is. After being oppressed by the cruel nature of greed hearted person consuming everything and everyone in its path. Many Mexican and other Latin American countries family are forced to leave their home. Due to a poor economy with lack of jobs or drugs and cartel, and thousands of people are fleeing their country in which their born to come to, the United Sate for a better day. Nevertheless, it is easier said than done, because entering United State is extremely long and tedious process which may take up to years and come here illegally has its toll on the long and dangerous journey. Therefore, today I wish to issue a proposal in which we bring back the Bracero Program
This year 2015 {from January to December 2015} we plan 1465 children to go through.
The PRP is an evidence based intervention, which incorporates a multidisciplinary team with the common goal of integrating treatment to symptomatic CRD patients (Nici, 2006). The PRP will emphasise ATS/ERS guidelines (Nici, 2006). The program will be hospital based. The initial assessment ensures patients complete the 8-week program. The schedule allows for three 1.5- 2 hour sessions. The sessions include 45 minutes of intensive muscle endurance training which incorporates muscle strengthening with cardio-exercises. The remainder of the session incorporates a combination of lectures and support needs such as nutrition, pharmacology, stress management, exercise safety strategies and smoking cessation. The post program
This essay is going to amalgamate everything from life pursuits, my educational objectives, pressing points of my life, etcetera. I feel the AAAS Scholarship is suitable for me because of my drive to get whatever crosses my mind accomplished. From an estimate of 10 years of age, I had always taken interest in occupations that intertwine chemicals and physics in them. Ranging from Neurological Engineers, to as far as a Forensics Pathologist, I have at last discovered my true paradisiacal job.
I plan to major in chemical engineering at UNR. Possessing a thirst for discovering how the world functions through the lense of science, I am interning with Dr. Casey in the Chemistry Department to experience chemistry firsthand. Alongside the heavy workload, I will balance volunteering with Dean’s Future Scholars at UNR, I’ve dedicated 200+ hours to the group and look forward to helping out the lives of low-income, first generation kids like myself. I’ll advance from college into the real world examining life at the atomic level while giving back to the
I am doing the CLEAR program and this program was very beneficial to me because it allowed me to see the world in a different aspect especially helping individuals with mental disabilities. CLEAR provides a full range of classes each semester based on student input. The social integration of the CLEAR students and other JCCC students will continue to provide a valuable learning experience for everyone. A variety of classes are taught each semester ranging from basic skills, physical conditioning and arts and crafts to enrichment and practical living skills. The offerings vary from one semester to the next. Interacting with these individuals made me open my eyes that I can be very impactful to a group of individuals. Throughout my volunteering
Once I had my passion for education relit inside of me, I applied to Valparaiso (Valpo) University and, more specifically, the Mathematics Science Education Enrollment and Development (MSEED) program. If it were not for MSEED, I can say without a doubt that I would not have attended Valpo. The program was special because it had extra experiences to help prepare me for my career past what other Universities offered and it also immediately placed me into a community of individuals I could rely on throughout my time at Valpo and after. I still remember Dr. Robert Clark, the head of the MSEED program, trying to talk to me at focus to ensure I got my schedule set correctly as well as that I was confident in the transition to college that was
Transitioning to Emory University as a first-generation student from a low socioeconomic background accustomed to being surround by peers from similar backgrounds and of the same race was a whirlwind. I remember constantly questioning whether or not I had made the right decision by coming to an elite university and wondering if I would ever be able to call Emory my home. The academic transition was no easier. I had never encountered such challenging classwork and learned rather quickly that I would have to work twice as hard in order to keep up. Like many other first semester freshmen, I enrolled in General Chemistry in order to get a start on completing the list of pre-medical requirements. After an extremely challenging semester, full
I am interested in participating in the postbaccalaureate program because I would like to become more competitive in the medical school application process. I applied for the Fall 2016 class and was not accepted. I have some classes in my undergraduate career that have held me back from being accepted into medical school, and these classes are what I would like help in improving. One class is physics; it is a subject that did not come easy to me, and the teacher was not helpful in explaining or having time to help me. I did not have the money to hire a tutor, and my GPA has suffered. I believe this postbaccalaureate program would assist me in improving this grade and making me more competitive. I also have failed to do well on the MCAT. This
I have reread the handbook countless times and completely understood that once year four begins all year three courses and prerequisites must be passed with a C and above. I also know that I failed to complete the prerequisites of Organic Chemistry 1 because I received a C-. After doing some research I found some options that are possible moving forward if you choose to reconsider me.
