People have been trying to aid the wanderers for a very long time, but clearly, have never found a good solution to the problem. People are sick and tired of walking out of their door in the morning and finding a vagrant, still reeking of alcohol which they purchased with a good Samaritan’s donation, on their stoop. The first thing we as people need to do, is really educate other younger and older people on the homeless. People don 't have a clear insight into who homeless people are. For example, I went and asked several young kids in my neighborhood who they think the homeless are and for the most part they said they are drug addicts and people who just don’t want to live within society. Homeless people have been around us for a long time. It occurs when the family faces problems and leave each other with nothing on them. Disabled people often get rejected from social services and end up in the streets. Veterans get robbed by the government and end up on the streets too. Everyone dreams of living in a house someday and not living on the streets. The government should make rules that help and benefit homeless people. Sometimes kids, at a young age, leave their parents because they have a lot of conflicts going on around the house. Homeless people’s lives are hard. Homeless people apply to get the job but get rejected by the manager because they have nothing on them and because they are poor. Sometimes a person getting out of prison will have a hard time getting a job too. Let’s see how there are sociological perspectives and how they view homelessness.

Homelessness is a serious problem in our society. Every night in our nation thousands of people are on the streets. This type of behavior is considered deviant because it does not reflect the norms and values of our society. In many cases the homeless people in our country are treated as total outcasts. Many of these people have severe mental disorders. Some are victims of an economy that has failed them. One may ask how such harsh situations exist in such an advanced society. With all the money and programs created to help people it seems ridiculous that this behavior exists. In a society where people have so much how is it possible that there are still people that have so little. The homeless are humans, no different than anyone else.

According to Foscarinis (1996), we need to focus on long term measures opposed to emergency relief of the homeless. We need to focus on what causes people to be homeless fundamentally. “Everyone has an interest in pleasant public spaces and that no one has an interest in living on the streets” (Foscarinis, 1996, p. 3). Many people think that homeless people are dirty, lazy, drug addicts, or nasty, but those are stereotypes. In fact, many of them became homeless due to natural disasters, unemployment, or debts. Each year, the homeless is increasing steadily which affects the society. For example, the homelessness does not have easy access to sufficient medical care. Based off this definition poverty is a condition that can cause a cascade of cause and effect actions that is detrimental to families and individuals both physically and mentally. Haan, Kaplan, & Camacho (2017) completed a study on the correlation between social and economic status and health in adults in Oakland, CA. They found that the lower the socioeconomic class the higher incidents of diseases and deaths related to chronic diseases (p.1161-1162). One of the problems at hand that not only us, in the United States have but, all around the world in different countries have, is homeless people.

They may also struggle due to their lack of education or their misconception of other people. If other people see homeless just roaming the streets they should refer them to different institutions where they can develop knowledge of what they can do for their situation. We should encourage those who don't have knowledge of what they can do to help themselves or even their homeless family. Most homeless people probably see they are helpless and it causes them to feel ashamed and not care about living in misery.

Poverty, or the inability to afford basic human needs, is an issue that is spread worldwide. There are people everywhere who cannot afford shelter, food, healthcare, or education. It seems easy enough to ignore the bum asking for change on the street, but it becomes near impossible in regions where whole families are begging on the street. This rings true in Latin America and it is extremely frustrating to see social inequality this extreme. This essay will examine how much poverty exists in Latin America, why the amount of poverty is so disproportionate and what can possibly be done to alleviate the amount of poverty in these countries.

Every city has poverty. Travel around the world, I bet it wouldn’t be difficult to find a city that doesn 't have an impoverished community. Poverty is a global issue, but most importantly it’s a local issue to me in the city that I live in. Among the 10 largest cities in America, Chicago has the third highest poverty rate with 40-60% of our residents living under the poverty level. People who live in poverty are given less opportunities, resources and tools than people who live in the middle or upper class. Poverty is not a pleasant subject, however, poverty is real. In the daily lives of the poor, poverty becomes a network of disadvantages. The end result is that there is a lack of access to education, employment, health care, affordable housing, proper sanitation and good nutrition among many generations of the poor (End Poverty). Of the issues associated with poverty, the lack of access to an education stands out to me the most. In Chicago, education is greatly valued and is vital for all development and growth achievements in people. Education is the process in which people gain knowledge, help form and shape attitudes and opinions, and allow people to gain a set of skills that they can further use in areas outside of a school environment. However, education systems in Chicago are taking a huge deficit due to the effects of poverty.
