Pre- Contact For this Interview I selected Evelyn C. Chandler a senior who lives in Mc.Givney –Bethune senior Apartments next to the Marygrove College. I had heard so much about the Mc.Givney- Bethune apartment and how much the seniors like to be involved with the Marygrove college students. Therefore, I decided to visit the apartments and spoke to the manager for the reason I was there. The manager mention that the only thing I was able to do was for me to leave my name and phone number and she would speak to the seniors to see who would be interested for the interview. Hence, two days later I received a phone call from Mrs. Chandler to inform me that she was interested on the reason and the purpose of the interview. Over the phone I …show more content…
While speaking to Mrs. Chandler it seemed as if she was a little nervous at the beginning, however when I started to get a little bit more personal I realized that I had to make her feel more comfortable and I did by showing her that I really cared about what she had to say. Therefore, Mrs. Chandler starting feeling more comfortable when I asked her more questions because she started responding in full details about herself. In my position as the interviewer, I also felt a bit nervous because I did not what to mess up the interview and say something wrong. Finally I started to get in my comfort zone and started to feel confident when asking her the question For instance, the questions that I asked to her started to open up into real conversations for the both of us to feel more comfortable.
Summary Content When I stated the interview I greeted Mrs. Chandler by thanking her for taking some time of her schedule for this interview. She responded with a smile, and an okay. Some of the major key questions I asked in the interview that impacted Mrs. Chandler were for example, when I asked her about her environment? Mrs. Chandler explained that she really loves her environment. However, she mentioned how she decided to be in the environment she is in right now. She than mentioned Thomas who she had made
With my past work experiences as a case manager, I 've had various meetings about what services my clients were going to need and what my involvement was going to be in meeting their needs. This has helped me strengthen my communication skills and I have learned to talk to a variety of different individuals. I especially find myself to have confidence which has also helped me sound relaxed and approachable when meeting someone for the first time. With this in mind I felt positive I was going to do well on my interview reflection assignment for my Introduction to Occupational Therapy class.
First we started in introducing ourselves to each other. We used informal language to start of just to get confortable with each other. After that during the interview she was very comfortable and I was also comfortable the interviewee helped me with some pronunciation of some words. Starting small talk together just getting to her know more I ask her a little bit about her background and as we relate to the some things. She did most of the talking I tried not to make the questions too brief for her.
The elected official that I choose to interview is the Mayor of Avon Lake, Greg Zilka. I choose Mayor Zilka because although I don’t live in the city of Avon Lake, I work in the city at a pizza shop, and I appreciate how beautiful of a city Avon Lake is. I emailed the mayor’s office and within a day I got a response back, and after about ten emails between the mayor’s assistant and myself, the interview was planned. I appreciated how Mr. Zilka through his assistant worked with me and my schedule to try to find a time best for me to conduct the interview, and how he was willing to meet in person, call, or email me, to which we agreed to a phone call. Mr. Zilka provided answers to most of my questions, but because of a scheduled
(After beginning the interview and gathering information I decided to switch up my questions, and narrow them down to be more specific to her personally from what I had in my oral proposal)
This interview has taught me that I don’t know a lot about what really went on throughout history. There are things such as textbooks but, they don’t tell how an individual felt or what it was like for each person to experience certain things during the same time period. For example, it is easier to generalize about how people felt during a major historical event or just living during a certain time period, such as the Great Depression, but it is another to actually get to know how it actually affected people. Everyone reacts to things differently and by generalizing it, it does not allow us to fully understand things that went on throughout and how the people were possibly changed by an experience.

In the beginning Sophia was a bit nervous and awkward but it was nothing that I have not seen before. As we went further into our conversation, she got better and less nervous or awkward. I can't say that the conversation flew by but throughout the interview, she seemed enthusiastic and interested in what I had to say.
I decided to contact a teacher, Nancy Niedermayer at a local elementary school. I reached out to her through email. I introduced myself and explained that I was a graduate student at Liberty University. I also explained the assignment to her and asked if she would be willing to meet me for an interview and the subject matter. She promptly returned my email and agreed. The interview was then set for Friday, September 9, 2016 at 2:30pm. Our meeting place was her classroom at Lakeside Elementary.
During the interview Mrs. Smith was asked several questions, and the following is a synopsis of the questions and answers; [audio].
The person I interviewed for this assignment was Professor Steve Rivera. He is a professor at Christian Brothers University (CBU). Mr. Rivera is the department chair for the adult program and the department chair in the psychology department for CBU. He has a bachelor’s degree, -EdD in Counseling Education Supervision, and is a Licensed School Counselor. The interview took place in Mr. Rivera’s office at Christian Brothers on June 17, 2016 at approximately 1:30 P.M. We decided to meet there due to the limited time we had since he had summer classes later on that day. Even though Mr. Rivera had a desk in his office, he set two chair aside for the interview so we could be face to face instead of him being on one side of the desk and me on the other. His approach told me that he was very excited and motivated to help me with this project. After going to the MSU counseling center and emailing the only counselors that could be available, I could not arrange an interview with any of them. Not finding anybody in Starkville I called the counseling center at the University for Women in Columbus, MS only to find out that both of the counselors there were already booked for our class. A conversation about my project then started between a close friend of mine that goes to CBU. I mentioned that I had not been able to find an available counselor to interview. To my luck she mentioned that her professor from the previous semester was a counselor. She gave me his contact
Thank you for taking the time to meet with me Thursday. I enjoyed our interview and was especially pleased to learn more about the different responsibilities that you have in your career as a Social Worker at Belmont Village Senior Living and also, in the organizations that you are a member of.
When I first began the interview, I felt like I was skilled in my introduction, but I mistakenly went straight to asking about the issue before talking to Julia about confidentiality. I started over and felt
I expected it to be more cut and dry as in I’d ask a question, Lucy would answer it. The actual interview, however, played out more like a conversation. The interview started off a little awkward because I wasn’t quite sure how to start. The first few questions were answered very shortly and I didn’t really know what to say to get her to elaborate. I was a little nervous then because I wasn’t sure if we’d have enough to talk about. However, she was very warm and welcoming and that made me feel a little more comfortable. As we continued, I found the parts of her life and religion that she’s very passionate about and she also began to ask me questions about myself. After we got to that point the minutes just flew by and we began to get a glimpse of what it was like inside each other’s
The initial person I interviewed was my girlfriend (Sophia). As soon as I got the first question out she had her reply ready and was ready to elaborate; Sophia did feel she fit the general expectations of being a female in our society. She identified herself on the feminine side of the continuum. She said our society tends to use gender and sex interchangeably but maintained that sex was the biological category based on reproductive organs and gender was a social construct. Continuing, she explained that the expectations for females that society holds were for dainty, obedient, caring women, while for men they tend to lean more towards strong, brave, silent. A little more probing revealed she thought this was a pretty big problem: the
The person I interviewed was Mrs. L. I know her because she is my mother’s mother. The interview took place at my house and the interview lasted about 2 hours and 20 minutes. I chose to interview Mrs. L because she seems to have done everything right and in the right order to lead to a successful life. I thought it would be interesting to go into depth and find out how she really did it and find out the hardships that came with making a successful family and life. (word count: 90)
