It was one of the last days of Summer before I would start Pre- K in September. The sun was shining and the rides were running today at Playland. As we were sitting on a bench. eating our funnel cakes and lollipops we see a little girl who looks about my age with dark curly hair with her mother exit the dragon coaster. As soon as we see them my mom pulls me up and with her to the woman and her daughter. My mom: Elise? Elise: Kim! My mom: Hi! How are you guys? How is everything? Elise: Everything is good. How are you? My mom: I’m doing well, thank you. Elise: Wow! I can’t believe the girls are about to begin pre-k together in September. My mom: Me neither, time flies. Elise: It sure does! Elise: Natalie, do you remember Arielle from your …show more content…
At Fieldston Lower friendships were usually simple and when they were not, it was usually by fault of the parents and not the child. Every school day, I woke uP knowing that as soon as I stepped foot into the red brick building with the black and white window sills, I would have a great day filled with kind friends and caring and supportive teachers. Due to this feeling of comfort and safety that covered me like a warm and cosy blanket, walking up the hill into Fieldston Lower was my favorite part of my morning routine. At Fieldston Lower, everyone was friends with everyone and that was just the way it was and on the rare occasion two kids were not friends with each other it was by fault of the kids parents. I myself have been through a messy experience created by parents however, this experience did not affect the parents it only affected my relationship with my best friend at the time. In the second grade, my best friend was Jess Harris. Jess Harris was a funny kid. She had hair like the feathers of a raven: Dark and soft and light blue eyes that mirrored the sky. The best way I could describe Jess Harris at the time is, exactly like me with the exception of her skin color, hair, color and eye color. Despite, our looks we were exactly the
During September the year 2014, my family and I took a 2 day trip to Dollywood. I was just eight years old at the time. That drive took us 12 long hours long because of car problems. Finally at 10 o'clock at night, we sluggishly dragged our extremely tired selves into the comfort of our soft beds in the hotel. The next morning, we drove over to the park and just past the entrance was a special place where you can get measured and given a color coded bracelet that would let you and others know what rides you were tall enough to ride. I was so excited because I was finally tall enough to get an orange bracelet, which meant I could ride most of the rides. After riding the smaller rides with my younger siblings, my mom wanted to take me on a
We stayed in the dorms and were broken up into groups based on age. On the first night I thought I heard crying so I grabbed my roommate and searched for the source. We stopped at the door it was coming from and knocked. A girl from our group had ended up with a single room and was homesick, having never been away from home. I immediately went to our group leader and explained the situation and asked if we could move the girl’s mattress into my room so she didn't have to be alone. The group leader agreed, and for the rest of the camp she slept on her mattress on the floor of our room. At the end of the camp when all the parents came for a last day picnic I remember her parents coming up and thanking me for what I had done. At the time I didn’t think it was a big deal, I did what I thought was right, not realizing how much of an impact my action
My daughter was three years old when a daycare employee called to inform me that something was wrong and I needed to pick up my inconsolable daughter. I swiftly left work and sped to the daycare. As soon as I walked in, I saw her bright red screaming face and reached out to comfort her fluttering fingers. I held them tight as we walked out of the building, I realized that this was something serious and we were approaching a hurdle in life that nobody could possibly prepare for.
One day in 2nd grade I was packing to go home and my teacher, Mr.Sprong, put our Monday folders on the ground and said “your award lists are in your folders” I took my Monday folder from the ground and opened it and saw an envelope I quickly finished putting away my homework and took the paper out of the envelope and I was totally shocked to see that compass award was circled I looked at the name again and my name was typed at the top of my paper. When I got home I told my mom she was very excited she said do you want to go out to eat or something? I said yes
On day in Pre-k in the morning in school I was going to Pre-k and i went to the cafeteria to eat breakfast and we were in line to get our breakfast and i meet this girl and it was this boy and they were being nice to me that day.The next day
It was a beautiful sunny Sunday when we went on a golf cart ride we traveled to a lot of different spots like some dirt hills,a racetrack,a creek along bluebird. As we were riding along trails my stepmom told my sister to put her foot inside the golf cart many times, but my sister ignored her and Grace kept putting her leg outside the golf cart so my stepmom just stopped asking her.As we going home we begged to go the mud hole which we have been
Our house was on the top of a hill. We started to walk down it hand in hand. My brother was so excited to see his friend. His happiness filled me with warmth and joy.
go forth into the underdark!”“I know.” She said in a disputed voice; I replied in what I hoped was a happy tone.
It was the summer of sixth grade year we were going on vacation and it was going to be surprised. I couldn't work my stomach was in butterflies my parents were going to tell us today where we were going. Suddenly the door opened and my mom and dad walked thru.
Again with my memory I can’t remember how I felt about the first day, whether I was so excited I couldn’t stay in my seat or if I was scared. But I do remember a car that pulled up behind us when I was dropped off and saw a young boy come out with what I could assume was the mom following close behind. My mother took my hand and directed me towards a group of kids varying from my age and up and told me to go over there and talk to an adult to figure out where I needed to be. As I started walking away I could see my mom waving to me and watching me get closer to my destination and when I reached a teacher I could see my mom rushing to get in the car and leave. At the time I remember being scared and not sure what to think but now I can assume she had to go to work. When I talked to the teacher I was told to stand in line with the other kids my age behind a white line on the ground. As I looked around I remember seeing a large playground and it made me feel more comfortable as it reminded me of home and the small one I have in the yard. Looking behind me I noticed that boy that got dropped off the same time as me standing right behind me. I said hi, he responded with a hello, and from there we became friends. His name was Joe. Every day I would see him at school and sometimes even hang out after since his house happened to
I was playing soccer in the back of the field at school with all my friends when the intercom called my name telling me that I was leaving. I ran to my classroom with my heart pounding with excitement. Me and my dad were going to go hunting for deer with my uncles. I ran into my classroom. When I entered my teacher asked me where I was going, I told him that I was going hunting, and he smiled and told me to have fun. I grabbed my backpack and ran out the door to the office. When I got to the office my dad was sitting there waiting for me. He checked me out and we walked out. He asked me if I was excited and I was just thinking why he asked that question because I was talking about this day for about a month, and I was waiting for the time to pass all day. We got to the car and drove home to get ready.
My day started out with my mom dropping me off at the school before she went to work. As I was walking into the school with my mom, my mom was giving me some advice on how to act, what I should and should not do and giving me some reassurance that everything was going to be fine and most importantly to be friendly and not be shy since she understood better than anyone else that I am a bit reserved. As we were walking through the hallway we
The day was so cloudy that the sky couldn’t be seen at all but it still managed to be a good Saturday morning. I was messaging a good friend of mine that I couldn’t spend much time with because she went to a different school. She had asked if I could come over and said her parents were okay with the idea so I went to my mother. I was packed up in record time and in the Hyundai Sonata riding over to their house, singing along to songs that were playing and chatting aimlessly with my mom. When we arrived my friend, we will just call her Jane, was walking towards us and I was immediately out of the vehicle enveloping her in a hug. She led me around to the backdoor and we walked up the two steps that gave elevation to her house. I was unaware at the time that she had not in fact let her parents know that I was supposed to be coming over so they were oblivious that their dogs, american pit bulls, needed to be put away.
A few weeks after I turned eight, I got a phone call. My mother told me that it was an very important person that wanted to speak to me. In my head, I would ask myself, "what very important person would want to speak to an 8 year old?" Of course I answered the phone call, it was an aunt from my father 's side of the family, her name is Rosie. She was telling me about herself, then invited me to come over the next day to her apartment, so that she could get to know me in person.
The day of the trip had finally arrived and my mom and siblings arrived at about two o’clock on Saturday afternoon to pick me up. I was so excited to see them
