The two Prepared Safety responses I choose were CPR and basic first aid. To begin, I selected both of these options because knowing them can either save a life in a dire situation (CPR) or prevent common injuries or serious injuries (basic first aid). This means that both options are extremely helpful and versatile, and also, both safety responses can be applied to a wide amount of situations. For example, CPR is a vital thing to know and can be used anywhere, from the basketball court to the swimming pool if needed, and basic first aid also can be used anytime a person has an injury, from a minor ankle sprain to a broken leg. Another type of training I think would be helpful to know would be learning how to use automated external defibrillators
The school aims to have at least 4 members of staff who have all attended a 3 day first aid course and where possible to have all other members of staff attend a 1 day training. First aid should be carried out when necessary by a qualified first aider but it should not prevent someone helping if the situation requires. A list of first aiders is situated around the school in places such as first aid room and staff room. It states that all members of staff including supply need to know who the first aiders are.
Event Maps and this document will be placed throughout the event area at various locations.
First-aid – the person who takes duty of the session must be responsible of the first aid. This should always be available for the training session as well as other sessions. This can be provided to a person when they are injured during the match or training. This prevent more damage and injuries to your body. An example includes at a hockey game, one of the players gets hit, and first aid is immediately required to keep the payer in a stable condition. They would need medical help as soon as
To have a sound knowledge of first aid and safeguarding procedures and to ensure training is kept up to date.
Outcome 4.1 Explain the policies and procedures of the setting or service in response to accidents, incidents, emergencies and illness.
Remaining calm, ensuring safety of all involved, assessing situation, providing assistance/ administering first aid as required and within limits of training, requesting professional support as required and informing them of situation,
Comprehensive training for all response agency personnel including awareness level, equipment familiarization, and a full-scale tactical exercise. The effectiveness of the training should be closely monitored. When officials are convinced that personnel have effectively mastered the concepts and psychomotor skills required, the response policy can be formally adopted into procedure.
If a social worker has had first aid training, it would contribute to providing a positive experience for users of social care services, as they would be the first port of call in an accident or emergency. The service user would not need to wait on a paramedic or an ambulance to be looked at, they would be seen as and when the accident happened. It would also make the service user feel safe in your care as they will feel better knowing that if an accident does occur, you are there and easy to call upon.
In traditional lifeguard training, lifeguards are only taught basic first aid skills, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and bloodborne pathogen training. The additional course of Injury Prevention
6- The correct use of a Defibrillator. 7- Know the recovery position and how to place a patient in it.
First, Incident Response (IR) plan “is a detailed set of processes and procedures that anticipate, detect, and mitigate the effects of an unexpected event that might compromise information resources and assets.” (Whitman, 2013, p. 85). Consequently, Incident response planning (IRP) is the planning for an incident, which occurs when an attack affects information systems causing disruptions. On the other hand, Disaster Recovery (DR) plan “entails the preparation for and recovery from a disaster, whether natural or human-made.” (Whitman, 2013, p. 97). For instance, events categorized as disasters include fire, flood, storm or earthquake. Thus, the differences between an Incident Response (IR) plan and a Disaster Recovery (DR)
cause injury. Self-defense training includes skills such as awareness, assertiveness, verbal confrontation skills, safety strategies, and physical techniques that enable someone to successfully escape, resist, and survive violent attacks. With the skills learned from them classes, first responders will learn how to successfully deal with aggressive patients or bystanders by using all the skills they learned from the courses. Departments need to create policies to cover these circumstances and guarantee that their work force receives defensive tactics particularly for those who work into high-risks areas.
Finally, the last requirement taught in training is First Aide. First Aide assists in treating injuries, ranging anywhere from a small scrape to administering an epinephrine pen to making a tourniquet to stop severe bleeding. Hopefully, you will not need to use all of your training, however, some sort of accident or injury is almost imminent. Consequently, these training methods are vital to prepare a lifeguard to help in any situation that he/she is
Hazardous materials can be important in everyday life when properly handled. However, when improperly handled, they can result in injury, death, and destruction as well as have lingering effects that may last for years to come. To address the risk of an uncontrolled hazardous materials release, there must be a coordinated effort to identify, locate, and quantify the hazardous materials in a particular location (Drexel University Safety & Health, 2001). Typically, industry and government agree that a hazardous materials incident is one where
Responses to such activities include: first aid, reporting illness or injury, near misses and dangerous occurrence, and debrief for leasons learned, what could be improved, and how the hazard could be prevented. Step 2, Collating information about the hazardous issue: I will need foremost information to
