The main issues facing the framers included the position’s structure, independence, and power. Although the modern presidency is different from the framers’ design, they would approve of it, since the concerns that the framers had with the executive still have been prevented. When creating the presidency, one issue the framers decided quickly was the structure, particularly having one president. This satisfied the needs of both the Conservative and Radical Republicans, by allowing for quick action, while still providing clear accountability.

Of course the first black president will always remain his honor, but as far as presidential achievements go where will Obama stand in the halls of American greatness? Potarazu is quick to point out other great leaders from our nation’s past and their noteworthy achievements in order to set a baseline of comparison for President Obama. The author even makes sure to mention such famous phrases as “Iran Hostage Crisis,” “Tear down that wall,” and “Read my lips” only to dramatically drive home the importance of a presidential legacy.

Historian Arthur Schlesinger said the team Imperial Presidency is when a president uses more power than the Constitution allows, and were able to avoid the checks and balances of our constitutional system. In this paper, I am going to explore three presidents who many feel were imperial presidents. While doing the research I was surprised how many great presidents had people make a case that they were an imperial president. For example, I read many articles about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln running imperial presidency. Abraham Lincoln is widely considered one of our greatest presidents. The three presidents that I am going to focus my paper on are Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, and George W. Bush.

This was very frustrating for Clinton, as secretary of state; she needed to manage a flood of email to have constant updated communication with colleagues, friends and enthusiasts (Eugene, 2016).
