During 1995 many Americans were not happy with Clinton's performance as President, falling to a low of 39%. Many could say his chances of being re-elected were slim to none (Smith, Lecture Notes, week 10). Many Americans were upset with his campaign for failed promises such as the reform on nation’s health care system. There also was controversies between the Republicans and the Democrats. Many conservatives were upset that he ended the ban on homosexuals in the military which affected his public support from this group (Patterson 327-328). In contrast some Liberals were troubled about NAFTA or the North American Free Trade Agreement because of the concern with losing jobs to Mexico and Canada (Patterson 334).
The Kids in the group were accepted to a white school about 60 years ago. Those kids were, Maurice Soles, Anna Theresser Caswell, Alfred Williams, “Poochie” Hayden, Regina Smith, Latham Gail Upton, JoAnne Boyce, Robert Thacker, Bobby Cain, Minnie Jones, and Alvah McSwain were all part of the Clinton 12. These 12 individuals changed the thought of themselves by going to 1 school. Bobby Cain, said in his in words, “The only thing I was thinking about was my saftey of entering the school”. I bet that was pretty scary for that whole group not just Bobby.
The five most important things that I have learned for the week are five different roles of the president.
The election of 1980 marked a ‘new political era’ that was ushered in by President Reagan and that followed on through the presidencies of George H. W. Bush and William Jefferson Clinton. These presidents were inaugurated at different times and succeeded the successes and the failures of their predecessors. Having came from different political backgrounds and having unique political and social beliefs, Bush, Reagan, and Clinton can only be analyzed through their foreign policies, domestic policies, achievements as well as shortcomings, and legacies.
Despite his scandals of an affair with an intern working in the White House, he not only significantly advanced the States economically but also provides health coverage for millions of children throughout the country by enacting a serial of bills. Eventually, he is admitted by American public.
A tragic hero is a person who is adored or praised by the public eye but then chooses an action that eventually leads to his or her’s own destruction. These kind of heroes have been around for an extreme amount of time. A tragic hero is most commonly heard of in a novel or epic, but there have been many historical tragic heroes throughout the real world. Every continent, every country, and even every state has had at least one real life tragic hero in their midst. The United State’s dealt with a tragic hero when they elected former president Bill Clinton into office. Clinton, who use to be known for his intelligence and great speaking abilities, is now known for his scandalous acts in the White House.
This book describes what one person did to elevate his status by many different people. Through politics DeWitt Clinton changed America by developing new ideas for the state of New York. His handprint can be seen today from the accomplishments some people may see from him. A presidential candidate who lost to James Madison in the election of 1812 thought his turn would be over, but in fact it was just the beginning for him. Becoming a mayor and governor of New York and living up to a legacy that came from his family lineage. Even one prominent aspect most people may recognize is the way he constructed something that would one day be something prominent later in the future. Evan Cornog the author of the book provides not only biography of DeWitt
The Arab- Israeli Conflict was and still is a big issue. Many people have been involved in this conflict in the past. When BIll Clinton was president he had a semi big role in the Arab-Israeli Conflict.
Republican candidate, George H.W. Bush, had lost the 1992 presidential election to a young Democrat from Arkansas, Bill Clinton. Clinton was somewhat of a dark horse candidate. He survived a giant sex scandal during his election, however, a third party run by Ross Perot split the vote and in 1993, Clinton was inaugurated. Clinton's foreign policy agenda, included the Oslo Accords between Israel and the PLO and NATO action in the Balkans. Successes and failures of the Clinton presidency included the failed attempt at health care reform, the very horrible attempt on LGBT issues, mixed feelings on the welfare reform and the more uplifting issues such as the huge improvements made in the economy. Also, computers were blowing up with the public
William Jefferson Clinton was born on August 19th, 1946, in Hope, Arkansas. Bills father, William Jefferson Blythe, had died in a car crash three months before Clinton was born, leaving his mom Virginia Cassidy Blythe to take care of him. Bills mom moved away to further her education in New Orleans. Bill stayed with his grandparents Eldridge and Edith Cassidy where they taught him the value of education. Bill was reading little books by the age of 3. Clinton’s mother came home in 1950 with her nursing degree. Later that year she married a car salesman named Roger Clinton. Bill Clinton attended Hot Spring high school where he was an exemplary student. Clinton then got affiliated with Boys State, an American Legion Program where he became a Arkansas representative to
Around twenty years ago there are multiple things that have occurred at this time. Within the time period a young happy couple named Annie Fernandez and Brian Anthony got married and decided to settle down in an apartment and tried really hard to start a family by having a child. Finally Annie became pregnant with Brian’s baby. A historic event happens in America that Bill Clinton is elected to be the President of the United States of America. Also during winter there was a huge snowstorm that had occurred that impacted the United States greatly from the huge amounts of snow. In a way this snowstorm paralyzed the US by making it difficult for people to move around to get to the places needed to go and things that have to be done. United Nations had come up with a treaty that bans nuclear testing in order to prevent countries from destroying one another through nuclear
Perhaps one of the most interesting times in a president’s administration is during the end of his term in office. Having reached the ultimate goal in a politician’s career, a president no longer has to worry about public opinion or any of the other political give and takes that usually influence a politician’s actions. He is truly free to act as he pleases almost free of consequences. Bill Clinton’s final days in office certainly demonstrated this fact. Using the ultimate unchecked executive power of clemency Clinton issued over 140 pardons and thirty six sentence commutations. He protected over a million acres of land through the creation of six new national monuments. He also nominated nine new federal
On January 17th, 1998, President Clinton videotaped a deposition for the Paula Jones lawsuit against him. December 19th, eleven months later, Bill Clinton became only the second president in our nation’s history to face impeachment from congress. The 1998-1999 was a tumultuous year for the President, the media, and the American people as a whole.
Clinton impressed people with the idea of a family man in office. He was focused and charismatic. Better economy was what the American people wanted so that is what his goal was. During his reign he went through more scandals and controversies than any other president. He was impeached, yet despite all, he was loved by America. Our economy prospered and we had better diplomatic relations. The American people wanted change for the better and so they elected William Jefferson Clinton for their forty-second president of the United States of America.
The name of my President is Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States of America. Bill Clinton was born on August 19, 1946, in the small town of Hope, Arkansas. Bill was named after his father, William Jefferson Blythe II, who had been killed in a car accident just three months before he was born. Bill’s birth name was William Jefferson Blythe III. His mother, Virginia Cassidy Blyth, moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, to study nursing and find a way to support herself and Bill Clinton, and he stayed with his grandparents in Hope. Eldridge and Edith Cassidy taught Bill strong values and beliefs teaching him that everyone is created equal no matter how different of skin or race they seemed. His mother returned in
Using a line graph, we are able to visualize the trend of words as used by the three presidents. President Clinton had a higher repetition of the most common words as compared to the other two presidents. As the time passes we see that the repetition of the common words reduces with Clinton leading with the highest number followed by Bush, and Obama in that order as seen on the line graph in Figure 2. From the graph we can conclude that the rate of change of the commonly used words has changes as from Clinton to Bush and finally to Obama. The repetition of the words and, the, and to during Clinton’s regime has steadily declined consistently in the Bush and Obama regime. On overall analysis repetitions of the words for the most part has declined
