Roosevelt. This World War One navy veteran saw the troubles that the United States was going through, (document 5) and promised a ‘New Deal’. During his run in office, he had three goals: Relief for the unemployed, repair the economy, and reforms to prevent another depression (the three R’s). The first thing Roosevelt did was fix the banking system. He knew that without stable banks, money would not be able to start flowing in the economy anymore. He ordered and ‘Bank Holiday’ and went through to all the banks making sure they were financially stable, and shut down the ones that were not. The nation soon had faith in Roosevelt and quickly saw brighter days ahead. Roosevelt provided relief for the unemployed through the Civilian Conservation Corps, and the Works Progress Administration. Both hired unemployed civilians to work building parks, playgrounds, hospitals, schools, etc. Roosevelt also provided recovery to the industry and farmers. He passed acts such as the National Industrial Recovery Act, and the Agricultural Adjustment Act. He paid farmers to start planting a variety of crop instead of competing in prices for the same product. He also provided long-term reforms and has so far prevented another depression through acts such as the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the Social Security

Roosevelt was determined to get us out of the Depression so he came up with the New Deal. This was designed to specifically help people who were affected by the depression. Roosevelt stated he would Relief, Reform and Recover America. Relief was to help out those who were unemployed and suffering. The Reform was to find out what the causes were and to prevent them from happening again and the Recover was to fix the economy. Roosevelt’s quest to end the Great Depression was just beginning. He asked Congress to end Prohibition which was later done that year. He created the CCC in 1933 that lasted for ten years and its purpose was conservation of resources. It also provided 2.5 million jobs to men where they earned thirty dollars a month. CWA didn’t last long at all. It was a construction job and lasted a year, but in that year gave over 4 million people jobs. They worked on things like rivers, schools and roads. Also in 1933 the Glass-Steagall Act was passed. This gave regulations to banks and people could obtain insurance up to 5,000 dollars through the new FDIC. After this people were no longer afraid to put their money in the bank. TVA is known as one of Roosevelt’s most ambitious act. This was created for the Tennessee River watershed and built 16 dams to control flooding and create hydraulic power. It also helped with agriculture

The CCC under his New Deal program, prompted the young males of America the chance to work and bring in money for their graving families, who were suffering during the Depression. They were working outside all the time, so it would better their overall physical appearance, but also their mental health too. FDR used the CCC to get the young men of America to become manlier. This ties to Teddy Roosevelt’s propaganda about America needing to show off their manliness to the rest of the world. The CCC brought forth a rejuvenation of the all-around health of the participants of the camps. The outdoor work that the workers were put through help transform their figures. As the Secretary of Labor, she played a role in the conditions of the workers the New Deal programs.

The role that FDR had in the grand scheme of things as president was primarily the New Deal which created the modern social safety net. During his presidency the best way to describe his leadership and tactics he used in pursuing his policy agendas, is that it inspired a term, the "Imperial Presidency," which would be used on subsequent presidents with similar styles. President Roosevelt's accomplishments were not only on the home front but also included major foreign policy successes with the prosecution of WWII and laying the groundwork for the United Nations .

FDR was to many people of that time a proactive, assertive, and brilliant president. He assembled a group of intelligent people to help create and implement changes in America known as the Brain Trust. (Shultz, 2014). Furthermore, in 1933 he established organizations, committees, safety nets in an attempt to prevent a depression ever occurring again. Moreover, the New Deal was developed and implemented, it expanded government control.

President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, or FDR as he is commonly known, created the New Deal and its programs to try and stabilize the economy during the Great Depression.These programs increased the government’s role in the economy, gave many Americans jobs and housing, and also gave them hope that their country would recover from the depression and stand strong once again.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) is known for his influential pieces of legislation that were passed and signed into law during America’s darkest days of the Great Depression and World War II. Within the first hundred days of President Roosevelt’s first term he signed the “New Deal”. This New Deal created government programs to help produce government jobs for the unemployed, help promote economic growth, and helped regulate the banks and Wall Street. Some of the original New Deal programs are still in use today such as: the Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and Social Security. President Roosevelt showed great leadership and knowledge during our nation’s crises.

The depression hit like a ton of bricks and America was not prepared. Americans were losing jobs, homes, and lives because of the great depression. The president at the time Franklin.D.Roosevelt came up with a plan to help out americans. Many americans during the depression didn’t want to accept government handouts although they needed it greatly. Nobody was ready for the disaster that was heading their way.

January 30, 1882, Franklin Roosevelt was born and would later on become one of America 's most loved presidents. Roosevelt became the 32nd president of the United States in 1933 and was elected president four times(Biography). He is the only president who will ever be elected four times to office. Throughout his presidency, Roosevelt carried out many outstanding programs to help rebuild America through the Depression and World War II such as the Agricultural Adjustment Administration, the Tennessee Valley Authority, and the dedication of Smoky Mountain National Park.

Franklin Roosevelt tried his hardest to get them out of the depression. He came up with many different organizations that helped bring them out of the hole they dug. The organizations were the Social Security Act, Works Progress Administration, Civilian Conservation Corps. These were known as the New Deal. These were very good ways to help Americans get out of the depression he showed his loyalty by helping the ones who needed it.

Roosevelt encouraged people to spend and invest again - however the little boost this gave was not enough to make confidence rise by such an amount that it would be able to make things back to "normal" (like before the depression). When F.D.R cut the New Deal budget in 1937, the country went back into recession! Only the USA's entry into the war brought an end to unemployment and helped America prosper
