The best villain I have ever known is President Snow from the hunger games. He would kill his own people to make his world better. He was always after Katniss and Peta in the Hunger Games. He didn’t like how they were seeing through all of his lies and knew what was going on. He wanted to rid of them for good and that was to change the rules of the Hunger Games. At first he didn’t like Katniss because she went into the games in place of her little sister Prim. When it came to the end of the book where her ad Peta were going to eat the night lock barries together so there wouldn’t be any winner Snow had enough and said they could both win for their district twelve. Also when it came to be the seventy fifth hunger games they had to go into the games again because Snow had changed the rules and had said” Former champions of the games will have to go in as well.” making Katniss and Peta have to go into the games for another round …show more content…
Also because he always would find ways to put Peta and Katniss in and out of his little games. A villain needs to always be mean to people or hold something to them or do a thing that could ruin their life. Like how he got back at Katniss for killing Prim. His importance to the story is to make it have spense to it. To wonder what is going to happen next or see what they do. The man with the red eyes is the villain in a Wrinkle in Time. A way that him and President snow can compare is that they both do little things to get back at them. Snow plays games with Peta and Katniss. The man with the red eyes tries to manipulate Charles. Trying to win him over for himself. They have a big impact in the story. Without Snow stalking Peta and Katniss he would never know what their next move will be. The man with red eyes is taking Charles away. The only person that knows what is going on. Whim him being gone Calvin and Meg don’t have a chance to
What would the world be without villains? What would become of all of the people who are very heroic, but have no way to prove it? That is where villains come in. A villain is a malicious person who is involved in or devoted to wickedness Ursula from Disney's The Little Mermaid is a villain, but the Sirens from Homer’s Odyssey exhibit more evilness by tricking people, killing people, and being clever.
What is a villain? Is it a boulder of hate in a sea of kindness, or a person whose heart and world are filled with darkness? A villain is a person who wants to hurt others or do bad things. The god of the sea, Poseidon from the Odyssey, by Homer and President Snow from the Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins could both be considered villains. President Snow is a greater villain because of his cruelty, selfishness, and him being uncooperative.
What do you think of when someone is called a villain? A villain is someone who has done something wrong and has no problem with it and would do it again. Montresor from Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Cask of Amontillado”, the narrator from Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Black Cat” and General Zaroff from Richard Connell’s “The Most Dangerous Game” are all examples of villains. But who was the worst villain? General Zaroff from The Most Dangerous game was the worst villain.
The Merriam dictionary defines a villain as a character in a story who opposes the hero and is blamed for a particular evil or difficulty. At this point in history our American government was a hero and Aaron Burr opposed the US government. Aaron Burr’s personal life did not reflect his public/political life. He might have been a loyal father, but not a loyal American. From a U.S historical perspective Burr was a villain because his plan of separation of the West and East was particular evil to the eyes of the government (87).
To start with, one popular villain would be Darth Vader. He is a villain in the Star Wars series and is also known as Anakin Skywalker. Initially a Jedi, a member of the Jedi Order who uses the power of the light side of the Force for peace, he is thought to bring balance to the Force. But, Anakin falls towards the dark side of the Force and says “From my point of view the Jedi are evil” (Lucas, McCallum). Vader seeks to destroy the Rebel Alliance, a group that rebels against the Galactic Empire.
Katniss has reached the point where she is off to the Capitol. She meets Haymitch and Effie who are her mentors. Haymitch and Effie are her supernatural aid. They are there to help her prepare for the games and to teach her how to win. Haymitch is a previous victor who informs Katniss of what the games are going to be like. Haymitch says that the best advice he has for Katniss is “Stay Alive”. Katniss is trying to get as much information out of Haymitch because she wants to know how to win. Haymitch tries to explain to Katniss that if she wants to win, she needs to get people to like her because that is what will bring her sponsors. Effie is there for moral support and she tries to see the positive in what the games bring. Effie always says “Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor!”. Effie is there to make sure that Katniss is visually appealing and that she is who everyone wants to be. She wants Katniss to enjoy the time she has left because she may never get to experience anything like it again.
Stereotypically, villains are evil, ugly beings that not one character or reader feels compassion for. But in the art of fiction, villains are so much more than the vile and unlikeable shells that they appear to be in some of the more bland instances. One such example of a villain that breaks down the ideal of villainy is Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz of Phineas and Ferb.
Supervillain Compare & Contrast Essay Super Villains, with powers or not, are remarkably popular considering that they are such unfavorable people. Fictional villains are generally defined as evil, and it is questioned whether this indication leaves for reason to believe that being evil is popular. These characters come in various shapes and sizes, albeit they habitually have similar schemes. Villains dominate a penchant to act upon impulses triggered by greed or a lust for revenge against the protagonist, one that has usually been derived from severed relationships in the past.
Throughout the many books that I've read and the many films that I've viewed, I have considered who or what is my favorite villain. My answer, without a doubt, is the Predator, central character in the 1987 film by the same name. Predator is my choice for several reasons, including the sci-fi factor that he brings to the film, the amount of blood and gore that he creates with his hunting style, and the fact that he is mysterious. First off the predator is a science fiction character because it is not of this world and the creature is far more technically advanced than we are currently.
Ursula from "The Little Mermaid" is one of the finest villains. I say that because Ursula is inconsiderate and coldhearted which makes her an astonishing villain. Ursula was born into a royalty family she was known as princess Ursula but all she wanted to do was become queen and be a singer. When her Ursula's father dies she thought the crown and throne would go to her disappointing that it wasn't it was going to her little brother. Furious is what she was when she found out that the throne wasn't going to her but her baby brother so she packed up her stuff and left.
He doesn’t mind Katniss in the beginning but once the games start his opinion changes about her.
Ever watched a movie or read a book with the evil villain? You might have found yourself hating the villain or even cheering the villain on. Villains are everywhere in fiction, you could never avoid it. They create conflict for the protagonist and make the fictional story more interesting. There's many famous examples of villains.
The best villain I know would have to be Darth Vader from Star Wars. He kept on trying to kill Luke Skywalker and Obi-wan-kenobi. He tried so hard to fight for the droids they had and so he could get Princess Leia. He is also mysterious he will not show his face until the end and it makes me and other people think what his face looks like. He also kept it a secret that Darth Vader was Luke’s father “ I am your Father.”
David Sedaris’ essay, “Let It Snow” is a reflection of Sedaris’ past. A single day from his childhood in North Carolina where Sedaris and his siblings were home due to school being closed for few days because of bad weather. The story reflects solely on the relationship that Sedaris’ mother had with him and his sisters, and how it was affected by her drinking problem. Although the story revolved around the children the mother was the main character.
Donald Sutherland, who plays President Snow in The Hunger Games, is a ruthless ruler who shows the people from the districts no mercy. To him, they don’t really matter. He is in command of the annual hunger games and controls every aspect of it. The hunger games are a series of games that put competitors head to head from the twelve districts. Only one player survives; the other eleven are killed during the games. This whole shebang is simply put on to give the people in the capital a fun show to watch every year. President Snow is seen as a modern-day Machiavellian leader because he shows that it is best to be feared than loved, and he will do anything possible to avoid the danger of a revolution.
