Prewriting: How I write I communicate more effectively by writing than I do communicating verbally. I believe that I write to the best of my ability with the knowledge I have but know that I could definitely learn a lot in this class that will help me write better. I do not write a lot for pleasure or for work although when I was a kid I spent a lot of time writing poems. I really enjoyed it and dedicated a lot of time to writing. As I have gotten older, all my spare time I used to have seems to be consumed by all the adult responsibilities of being a parent, a grandparent, and a Soldier. I find that I write better when I am alone and later in the evening. When the day is done and I am relaxed and can gather my thoughts.
Furthermore to expand on the classes I had taken before I had never learned how to write without just actually doing work and feeling enthusiastic about it. Most of the time we would learn about something or topic would be given. There would be
Writing has always been one of those things that I have had to work at to get words on paper that is not the case anymore. For some reason just letting myself free write for a couple weeks has suddenly made it much easier for me to write, and write significantly
Writing is something that I’m not good at because for some reason it is difficult for me to organize my thoughts coherently. One of my major weaknesses is that when writing I have trouble expressing my ideas well enough to ensure that my writing will accomplish the intended purpose. As a matter of fact, I tend to use a lot of words when it is not necessary. What I expect from this course is that I will help me improve my writing effectiveness. I’m looking forward to develop the skills that will allow me to have a better writing, and even enjoy from this activity. Furthermore, the course could allow me to improve other writing skills, such as critical
I always thought that my writing skills were pretty good until I started this class. It has been thirteen years since I graduated high school and I quickly realized that I had a lot of “refreshing” to do as far as writing papers. I actually felt very discouraged when I took the grammar test and did not score very well. I knew that I had to dedicate myself and put a lot of effort into this class to really improve. The practice quizzes were a major help to refresh on everything I must have forgotten since high school. Being able to write a quality paper is a skill that everyone should master. Writing is such a major part of communication in this day and age so being able to write an intelligent paper will benefit you not just through school but also through life. Writing skills are a reflection of intelligence and I want to perfect my writing the best that I can. Being able to write a quality paper is a skill that everyone should master. Writing is one of life 's most important skills and I have learned a vast amount about writing through my high school experience. I have learned that writing is not a strict, structured piece of work, but a free place to express facts and opinions. Personally, I have mixed feelings about writing; I enjoy the independence, but often have a hard time connecting all of my thoughts in a coherent way. Just as most high school students, my writing style and ability has grown and morphed throughout my years, and I still have much to learn.
A learner’s ability to communicate effectively through writing to his/her target audiences is a major prerequisite for academic success. It is also a major pillar of success in one’s career across all areas of practice. Even though, writing clearly is critical to one’s academic and career success, I have not always loved writing. In fact, for a long time I despised writing. At one point, I had a feeling that my writings skills were bound to remain stagnated throughout my life. However, time has proven that I was wrong. My attitude and outlook towards virtually all genres of writing has changed positively. The various helpful methods I have been exposed to by my English teachers through different grades have helped me
Intern met with resident K. Brown for the purpose of addressing her personal concerns and speaking with her about her community service hours. Kiara informed me that she completed her community service hours for the previous week. Intern asked her to verify the days she completes CS hours, and she stated Sundays and Wednesdays. Resident did express her frustrations by saying that she used to mess up with her CS hours, but she is really trying to do better. Intern advised her that another resident completes hers during that time, so she will have to do CS hours on Mondays and Thursdays or Mondays and Fridays. Intern also explained to her the importance of doing CS hours. It was explained that not only is this a requirement of the program,
Writing throughout time has been one of the most essential ways of learning. To be good in many professions you must be able to articulate yourself in some form of writing. In class I had tools brought to my attention that would help me become a more effective writer. A few of those tools where the ten core concepts, conducting an interview and learning to write a research paper. All of which that I learned in class this semester has helped me become a more articulated writer.
My overall goal for this class is to improve my written communication skills. I speak well when face to face, I love talking to people, I have no problem talking one on one with people or in a group setting. However, I struggle when putting words on paper, writing does not come easy for me, I struggle with Grammar and with what and how to write my thoughts. I do not expect to improve to the level of writing a book but would like to improve
My high school education pushed me to focus on excellent word choice and creating sentences that flow smoothly. Expressing myself via the written word has always been my preferred form of communication. Ever since I was little I enjoyed writing short stories and letters to my grandparents. The training I received in school assisted me in my development of choosing the right words to explain what I was striving to communicate in an effective fashion. Forming sentences that flowed together in an organized manner was also a skill I was naturally gifted with but have worked diligently to hone over the years. These aspects of writing are what comes naturally to me and have allowed me to sharpen other facets of my writing ability throughout this class.
When am I most successful at writing? The perfect place to write for me is in my living room because it is more tranquil. Not only is it peaceful, it also gives me enough room to operate. An additional purpose for writing in my living room is because of the lighting. My light must be dim because it gives me a soothing mood, which helps me think. Another important aspect of writing a swell essay is the time of day I start writing. My preference for writing is in the morning because I seem to have more energy to complete tasks. Writing in the evening makes me tired and accompanied with writers block. Therefore, my best writing is acquired earlier in the day. The most essential way for me to compose a great essay is to write it on paper. This
My relationship in writing is a relationship that I have to work on. When I started online courses it made me realize that my writing skills, was not so impressive, and needed work. Practicing writing is, on the top of my list. I prefer not, to express myself when I am writing, because I would be leaving a trail of my thoughts on paper, for someone to read. When I was reading this week’s Read, and viewing the Attend, it made me realize writing my thoughts down was not so terrible, it could be a way for me to tell a story that needed to be told, in order to help others.
difficult parts of writing. I personally feel more focused in the morning. I am usually
The Writing II course has been my most interesting and rewarding class. Even though I could not complete the class, the course is not over for me. Before taking the class, I acknowledge I have much room to grow in writing, but I did not know where to start. Writing has always been unclear to me in many areas, and this class helped me to unblemished my understanding. In this class, I have acknowledged my weakest areas in writing, but my most astonished ambiguity was determiner noun and vocabulary. I did not know I was using determiner incorrectly and vocabulary span is so important in academic writing. The English Simplied book is an easy and an excellent learning tool that was used in this course. It covers all areas in determiners.
My experiences in writing have been minimal. I have only learned the basics of writing, like putting together sentences, forming paragraphs with sentences, and things like that. Since I have been taking college English, I can tell my writing has improved a lot. In the future, I hope to be able to improve tremendously at writing essays, paragraphs, research papers, documents, and stories so that I have very little to no errors with drafting and final products. I predict I will be a well rounded writer when I graduate from college.
