Characters: Elizabeth Bennet – The main heroine of the novel She is an, independent, intelligent character. Her role in Pride and Prejudice is to ridicule the constant fixation with society’s expectations. She doesn’t want to marry if it isn’t for the love of the relationship. She judges Darcy as too proud and denies the proposal, but later sees how she was wrong Fitzwilliam Darcy – Elizabeth’s equal. Darcy was thought to be “disagreeable”.
