Introduction
Portrayal of characters is an essential element that contributes to a good story-telling, be it film, poem, drama play, or animation. Whether it’s film or animation, the different characters featured in the scene plays an important role that brings up the story from the beginning to the end. However, the title itself offers hints of mononoke.
Okayama (2015 p. 112) explained that the word mononoke consists of three apparent parts: mono ( “body or creature”), no ( “belonging to”), and ke (“spirit”). The word Mononoke itself is to define the unusual identity of the wolf Princess as a half-human, half animal. If translated, the meaning of the title is to symbolize the spirit of the forest, the vengeful spirit of a princess.
The keywords in this movie are ‘spirit’, ‘nature’, and ‘coexistence', the spirit of nature that battles against humanity. It is where the spirit of the forest possessed the wolf Princess to take revenge on the humans, but then there’s Ashitaka who believes in the coexistence between nature and humanity, which captures the audience’s attention in knowing the final outcome of the relationship between the Princess and Lady Eboshi of the iron town (Rathke 2015).

However, if we re-examine the animation from another point of view, we will find that it has grown out of a single commercial mode constraints. Some of the animations are complicated, obscure and abstract. Variety kinds of visual images in it stimulate the audience's optic nerves. This is the salient features of experimental animation. Experimental animation belongs to the field which between film and pure art. Innovation is the soul of it. In the production process, the
This movie is the perfect melting pot of humor and action. A lot of movies fail to hit the balance between too much humor and too much action. The Princess Bride is an exclusion to this cinematic misfortune. Although there are interruptions from the story with the narration by a grandfather and his grandson.“The Princess Bride” is a wonderful adventure movie meant for people of all ages with humorous irony, colorful and unique characters, and fantastical, well choreographed stunts.
c) The characters as well as the plot are finely detailed. Each character serves are purpose whether they are functional or decorative.
F. Scott Fitzgerald once noted, “Action is character.” In other words, characters do things. They feel things. They hear things. They say things. They think things. They go places and so on.

This idea of "imaginary" evil is very similar to the Beast in Lord of the Flies.
The result of these characteristics give each story suspense and mystery, leaving the readers wondering what each character will do next and what further action will take place. Characters hold a primary role in determining the outcome of a story, which is the reasoning behind the many similarities and differences among literary characters. Also, a clear example is the similar plots with two completely different outcomes. Once the audience understands a character, they are capable of building on their existing knowledge to foreshadow events or understand the text more logically, which is evident when reading these

The more dominant character is described with “masculine” qualities, while the subordinate character is described with “feminine” qualities. Characterization of the feminine or subdominant is achieved by describing a particular character in terms of the aesthetics of his or her physique, in keeping with the feminine quality of the appreciation of beauty. Conversely, characterization of the masculine or dominant character is often achieved by exaggerating the grittiness of his or her actions, traits, or circumstances. The classification of each character in a given story is usually either morphed or highlighted by a physical

Many of Hayao Miyazaki’s films have a larger theme that can be related to a social, political, economic, or environmental issue. Of the films being discussed, Princess Mononoke is known for being the second most environmentally forward film. This can be analyzed by looking at the plot, characters, setting, and its relation to modern Japan.
In the films Castle in the Sky and Princess Mononoke, by director Hayao Miyazaki, there are many references to times that took place before the events that occur in the stories. Certain historical events can be seen to have affected the way in which Miyazaki handles events of the past concerning nostalgia. The way in which he presents technological concepts can represent his feelings towards history and how it should impact the present. These views on nostalgia often contrast with the way in which American animation typically views the events of the past.
