In the year of 2012 alone, there were nearly seven hundred thousand abortions that were reported to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Back in the year 1990, there were over one million abortions that were reported to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. For many years, abortion has been a major controversy within the United States. People have been known to claim that these unborn babies have a right to life just as much as any other living being, while others claim that unborn babies are not yet actually living beings until they have officially exited the womb. So what would be the correct answer to this topic? There is not actually a single, purely correct answer regarding the controversy of whether or not abortion …show more content…
They do not believe in the justification of any kind of unnatural deaths. Most supporters are also very strongly against things such as Euthanasia and assisted suicide. They also oppose government acts such as the death penalty, and any kind of violence or war. They believe that they are obligated to save all human life possible. To begin with the Pro Life view on abortion, they believe that the minute the sperm meets an egg, it becomes human life. They think that to get an abortion, you are committing a murder. They also feel strongly about mother’s taking responsibility for their baby. If a girl goes out and is careless about using birth control, or lack thereof, it is her duty to go through with the pregnancy. For these mother’s they explain that there are many women would love to adopt the baby. Second, they believe that if abortions are accepted by everyone, it will become a normal form of birth control. It’s been said that they don’t believe in any form of birth control, however this is untrue. Some religions do forbid birth control, but this is not a majority of the Pro Life supporters. Most supporters think it is okay to use birth control, but that abstinence is the best way to prevent unwanted …show more content…
They believe in the mother’s freedom to choose what she does with her body. Pro Choice believe that every child should be born and know that they are wanted and loved. They think that children that have been planned for, live better lives. Their parents are ready to support the baby in every way possible. Second, they think that a fetus is not considered a human being. They consider anything that is self-sustaining as a human being, whereas the fetus is completely dependent on the
Pro-Life believe that women should not have the right to have abortions while Pro-Choice believe that women who become pregnant should have the choice to have an abortion. When a survey is done asking Americans if abortions should be legal, illegal, or legal under certain circumstances most people said legal under certain circumstance. “There are variations within each group depending on how liberal or conservative one’s opinions are; some individuals who are pro-life believe that in cases of rape or incest abortion should be allowed, and some pro-choice groups favor waiting periods and other restrictions on abortion” (Arguments for and Against Abortions). Pro-Choice believe that the “fetus is a human being from the moment of conception; this means abortion is murder, which is immoral and should be illegal. While Pro-Life believe that“The fetus is not yet a human being because it cannot survive outside the uterus on its own” (Arguments for and Against
Those who agree with the laws on abortion are strong supporters of the woman's right to choose. Hence, they call themselves pro-choice advocates. These persons are in support of abortions no matter
Pro-choice believers support the right to privacy and the idea women should have the choice to do what she pleases with her own body. For example; a woman is raped by a man and becomes pregnant with his child. She decides she doesn’t want to keep the baby; she has an abortion because mental affect her if she has to look at the baby of
The pro-choice movement is a sociopolitical movement that supports the view that a woman has a right to terminate her pregnancy. In the United States, the pro-choice movement is led by a variety of organizations, with no central decision making body. While these groups have different agendas, they collectively use propaganda in order to communicate with certain demographics and influence support for their cause.
All lives matter even the ones that are waiting to begin. Abortion is “the intentional termination of a pregnancy in the early stages”. Many people have different views on abortion. some believe that the mother can choose, and others believe that it is not any person’s choice about the life of the child. For example pro-choice is to be willing to let the mother’s decide what they want to do about the child that is growing inside them because it is their body. On the other hand pro-life is to be against letting mothers take the lives of their unborn children. Abortion has many effects on the human body, because it is not a natural sequence taking place within the mothers body. There are many other options than abortion, and abortion could be eradicated in this generation if women and families are given proper support.
Abortion History) Because of this abortions had to be made legal. Many anti-abortion legislatives were established in order to promote the use of contraception and birth-control. These legislations have been around for years in attempt to make women realize that they should stay with the role of a traditional mother. An effort to establish an environment for women to go to about their choices on parenthood was actually established in 1916. This is an organization called Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood is an organization that provides information and advice to women on matters such as protection during intercourse, planning a family if you get pregnant, and with help if you have issues with reproduction. They are not for or against abortion, but they state on their website that if you are considering an abortion, to consider all of your options and learn more about abortion, parenthood, and adoption before making a decision.
The pro-choice term is used to describe the view that women should have the legal right to an induced abortion and that right should not be limited by government or religious authority. The movement is characterized by the desire to abolish laws that deny women the opportunity to execute their own decisions over their pregnancy. Major organizations in the pro-choice movement include NARAL Pro-Choice America, the National Abortion Federation, the National Organization for Women, and Planned Parenthood. As a whole, the movement supports and works towards preventing unwanted pregnancies, promoting contraception, education women and youth, and reducing abortion. The pro-life movement, which had been in existence from the 1960s onward, is widely known for its opposition to elective abortion. The movement’s ultimate objective is to reverse the Roe v. Wade decision and add an amendment to the constitution, such as the Human Life Amendment, that would outlaw abortion in all circumstances. Advocates generally argue that human life begins at conception and the fetus should have the same moral and legal rights as a person. The pro-life movement includes a variety of organizations, such as the National Right to Life Committee, the Pro-Life Action League, Operation Rescue, the Family Research Council, the Catholic
People who support banishing legal abortions are usually referred to as “pro-lifers.” They usually believe in standing up for the unspoken rights of the fetus and believe that the practice of abortion is morally wrong. Expanding upon the theory of predestination, it is believed that the fetus itself has its own freedom, and it is their job to represent and protect those God-given rights.
The fertility rates for women aren’t as high as they used to be. Only 59.8% of babies are born to every 1,000 parents between the ages of 15-44. Less children are being born, and more are being aborted. All pro-lifers believe that if you get pregnant you should take of the baby, since many women can’t have children.. “Opponents, identifying themselves as pro-life, contend that personhood begins at conception, and therefore abortion is the immoral killing of an innocent human being. They say abortion inflicts suffering on the unborn child, and that it is unfair to allow abortion when couples who cannot biologically conceive are waiting to adopt.” (paragraph 3)
The United States pro-life movement is a social and political movement in the United States opposing on moral or sectarian grounds elective abortion and usually supporting its legal prohibition or restriction. Advocates generally argue that human life begins at conception and that the human fetus is a person and therefore has a right to life. The pro-life movement includes a variety of organizations, with no single centralized decision-making body.
Some of the views that anti-abortionist argue that life begins at conception, it is illegal to intentionally kill another human, pregnancy is 100% preventable and minors are not being properly educated on the effects and alternatives to abortion. Life comes from procreation between two humans. There is no other way to create life. When human beings mate and

Being pro-choice means that one believes a woman has the right to decide what she wants to do with her unborn child. Women have an essential right to access abortion in order to satisfy their personal concerns. It allows women to take control of their own bodies, instead of having the government decide what is best for them. If men are allowed to impregnate women and not be forced to take responsibility for the aftermath, women should not be forced to carry out the pregnancy. Men are allowed to carry on with their lives and go to work every day. Yet, women are unable to receive paid leave with the possibility of not being able to go to work ever again, since they have to take care of a child they were forced to keep in the first place. Like men, women have aspirations and life goals they want to achieve. However, pregnancy has ruined that for many. For women who are financially unstable, abortion would be an available option since the cost of
Pro-choice is the belief that women should have the right to make a decision about their own body, and not have someone telling them they can’t. Abortion is one of the most talked about subjects on women’s rights. People are either pro-choice which is for or pro-life which is against abortion. In 1973 there was a huge topic that caused a lot of controversy and is still talked about today. This case was brought to the United States Supreme Court and is what made abortion legal for women. This case is most commonly known as Roe v. Wade. There are many protests that have happened and still happen because of the decision to make abortion legal. After abortion was made legal ten thousand people gathered and protested that abortion is wrong in New York’s Central Park. There has been more than 300 acts of extreme violence towards providers of abortion. In 1973, there was a group of people standing outside Planned Parenthood yelling, “Whores” amongst other things. Another protest that has been going on since the 1973 case Roe v. Wade is “March for Life”, and attracts up to 500,000 people who are pro-life. Despite all the protest and rallies, abortion still remains legal and the fight against abortion is not over. Woman should have the option to have an abortion because freedom of choice, population control, and medical risk.
The pro-choice position’s main argument is that illegalizing abortions takes away rights from the mother. Referring back to the textbook, this is the argument that if a famous artist’s kidney failed, nobody is legally bound to give them their kidney. Additionally, people in the pro-choice position don’t view the fetus as a child at conception. It’s a clump of cells that can’t experience pain or live on their own, so nobody has a duty to protect or raise it. People in the pro-life position argue against this by saying that the fetus has the potential to become a child, so we have a duty to protect it and raise it to be a person. A derivative of this argument is to reserve the most human life. The issue with this is once that distinction is made, what makes rape wrong? If rape occurs, there’s potential for a child, too. Overall, pro-choice people believe that a mother’s rights and ability to make decisions outweighs the rights of a fetus.
