Pro The diary of Frederick White Moving to Kentucky was a tough choice, but I believe it’ll pay off. Bell county has treated the family well. The weather is always fine, no day without work, always hot. I moved here from Virginia as the folks there got all soft hearted on the negroes. Treating them like normal human beings. I couldn't stand for this so I saved myself and my family by moving up here. People around here in Kentucky mostly grow hemp and tobacco, they own the most slaves. The farms around here are smaller than than most around the south. The main slave trade market was in Louisville. Bell county is just out of Knoxville. The war is distressing, but our white brothers fight for the country, they fight to keep slavery in motion. Abraham Lincoln says “Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.” but the good book says otherwise. “Slaves, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ” ― Ephesians 6:5. Now why would he go against god? The bible clearly states Slaves should obey their masters, why would he try and change what the bible said? He doesn't know what he’s in for, he may be the leader of our country, but god will always be the leader of the world, Lincoln has no power against god. Here we are against slavery, It disgusts me to think of the way that they are treating those people in the south. Up here we don't believe that anyone is unequal, we are all people of god. Why would he put them on our earth if they were unwanted or different? In the verse Exodus 21:16 it states: “Whoever steals a man and sells him, and anyone found in possession of him, shall be put to death.” I am a man of god and I believe in the great book. It’s also morally wrong, how could those slave owners sleep at night, knowing what they are and what they’ve done to those people. They treat them like dirt, if not worse.
