Difficulties of Being a Teen Parent Do you know the difficulties many teens parents face while having a child? Many people believe that teen parents don 't have many problems and babies are easy to take care of, but that is not the case at all. 3 in 10 teenage girls will face many of these challenges because that is the percentage of teenage girls who get pregnant (Slocum). My essay will talk about all of the issues teen parents face from having a child. The problems that I will be talking about that they face include health issues, getting an education, the issues their children face, the relationship between the parents, and having money problems. Health issues affect not only the teen mother but also her child. The health issues that both the mother and the child face may be the biggest issue they go throughout the time of pregnancy and giving birth. Many pregnant teens will suffer some sort of medical complication during pregnancy but that is not always the case though. Some of the mental and physical problems they may face include miscarriages which is the loss of a fetus before the 20th week of pregnancy (WebMD), Anemia which is a condition that develops when your blood lacks enough healthy red blood cells or hemoglobin (WebMD), having a premature baby, and Postpartum depression which is a depression that women get after giving birth to a child (WebMD). A full term pregnancy is forty weeks, any birth before thirty seven weeks is considered a premature birth. It is also easily avoidable by schools and parents increasing the education level on forms of contraception that are available to people.
