Would also need to get the proper materials for yourself too. Will need to go to the store or inside your house to get a carrot, buttons, coal, sticks, rocks, hat, gloves, and a scarf. In order for to stay warm will need the proper materials to stay warm. May need to go buy this stuff or
A competitive snowball fight is the typical snow day activity. Don’t do the fight late in the day because you won’t have any more energy. Which is why you should do the fight at the beginning of the day. First, make the teams, but make sure they are evenly separated. Sometimes it is even fun to get everyone to gang up on one person. If you’re not that person. Next, build snow forts. These forts are good for more protection during the snowball fight. You need to make sure the fort is sturdy with no cracks and no visible grass, so sleds are helpful for support. Another helpful tactic when getting prepared for a snowball fight is to make a supply of snowballs. This is helpful if you are getting annihilated by the other team; you’ll have back-up so that you don’t lose. Make sure that the other team doesn’t steal your snowballs though.
The Big House, the largest prehistoric native American structure in North America, is a four-story building constructed by ancient Sonoran Desert people, the Hohokam. The Hohokam were native American tribes that vanished in the 1400’s leaving behind archaeological evidence of a sophisticated culture revealing advanced canal systems, and the “Casa Grande,” a big house in the Sonoran Desert valley. Missionary, explorer and mapmaker Eusibio Francisco Kino, was the first European to discover the site in 1694 and named it “Casa Grande”. After the railroad came through in 1879, travelers would scratch their names into the walls, some took artifacts, even pieces of the wall were taken as souvenirs. In 1889, Congress voted to take action to protect the site from vandalism and looting. It has been protected since 1892 by the General Land Office and then it was transferred to the National Park Service in 1918. This
The snowman is created by Jem and Scout in Chapter 8 where snow falls in Maycomb, their city, for the first time in a long time. However, since there’s not enough snow to create an actual snowman, they use unconventional methods and add seemingly random objects to the claimed snowman. One quote that shows how the snowman was made is when Scout narrates, “Jem scooped up an armful of dirt, patted it into a mound on which he added another load, and another until he had contracted a torso….Jem sloshed water over the mud man and added more dirt. He looked thoughtfully at it for a moment, then he molded a big stomach below the figure’s waistline….Jem scooped up some snow and began plastering it on” (Lee 75-76). This quote shows that the snowman was made out of mostly dark mud molded together, with white slushy snow plastered on the outside. With the limited snow in Jem’s disposal, he used it just to cover the snowman. The snowman is a symbol for Tom Robinson and foreshadows the trial. A quote that foreshadows the trial with the snowman is when Scout narrates, “Miss Maudie’s sunhat was suspended in a thin layer of ice, like a fly in amber, and we had to dig under the dirt for her hedge-clippers” (Lee 82). After the fire, they find the irregular parts of the snowman that has fallen apart due to the fire at Miss Maudie’s house, and this quote shows that. This foreshadows the death of Tom Robinson,
The next day, we came back to the snowman. It was a little miss shaped due to being exposed to the elements but you could still tell it was a snowman. It's carrot on its face was missing and also its hat but we still played with it. We had snowball fights and made snow angels and all sorts of other things. After that, we decided on a name for the snowman. We called it or Mr. Snow. Mr. Snow winked at us that day and we thought that maybe he was friendly.
The gift that my group performed for the community of Juneau, Alaska is snow removal. The group consisted of my two most trustworthy peers Marcos Yadao and Mitchell Laudert. We all understood that living in a small tight knit town such as Juneau; the smallest of tasks can have the biggest impacts. That is when the light bulb in our intellectual brains and the idea of snow removal came to mind. It was an appropriate job for the winter season. With heavy snow flurries in the forecast, this would be an achievable accomplishment. With the service in mind our next step was to pick a location. We did not want to select the wealthy neighborhoods because the residents there would probably be financially able to pay for such services. The location that we settled on was not a poverty stricken area, but the homes consisted of elderly residence. To avoid complications with the occupants of the home and explain our reasoning for the free service we wanted to only do homes were the residence weren’t present. That did not hold up to a standard when we actually got around to carry out the service. The whole point of going out and helping people of Juneau with their snow blanketed driveways, walkways, and porches too was to gain self respect and also to prove to the world that good can come from anything and anywhere too.
Waking up and looking outside, the snow is several inches deep covering the grass, the street, and the snow-banks are knee high. These are the perfect conditions, for one thing, snowboarding. A snowboarder knows the prime conditions to ride and will do anything to make sure they are on the mountain ready to go when those conditions arise. In preparation for snowboarding, you’ll need to consider the temperature, where you will be riding, and what type of gear is needed for the conditions.
David Sedaris’ essay, “Let It Snow” is a reflection of Sedaris’ past. A single day from his childhood in North Carolina where Sedaris and his siblings were home due to school being closed for few days because of bad weather. The story reflects solely on the relationship that Sedaris’ mother had with him and his sisters, and how it was affected by her drinking problem. Although the story revolved around the children the mother was the main character.
“Part of me felt I was stronger, more reasonable and more reliable than my Enishte, and part of me was dwelling on the cost of the caftan that I’d purchased on the way here to meet with this man who'd denied me his daughter’s hand and on the silver bridle and hand-worked saddle of the horse which, soon after going downstairs, I’d take out of the stable and ride away” (Pamuk 33).
In the Renaissance, everything lingered virtually the identical but some of the techniques and varsities changed. Realism was some of the articles that were tailored to paintings as well as in the sculptures. This was regularly viewed in buildings with paintings on the ceilings with more realistic changes to the articles. This is the time period when more techniques and styles were made known by many artists. Perspective was introduced by many artists, this showed a more three-dimensional vision of what they’re painting or drawing and distance. Distance showed stuff that was behind the figure or figures. Balance and proportion were edited a lot more to measure up the size of objects. An example of that could be an adult compared to a child
1. David’s primary purpose in sending a message is to inform the reader that the car company will not honour the customer’s claim. The writer’s priority is to inform the reader that the company would like to honour the claim, but point out that it could not happen because the warranty is expired.
It was a cold day, so cold that your arms start to sting as if a needle is impaling the surface of your skin. The wind applies a force which feels as if your face is oozing with thick crimson red blood. The gray puffy clouds covered the sky and dropped small snowflakes onto the road’s surface. A man stood there, freezing, clearing the coat of thick white snow from the concrete road. His nose runs with a river of snot that floods out when the cold wind strikes. His sense of smell is heavily clogged by the slimy snot, but he can still smell the scent of the steamy hot chocolate which sits on the top of his snow covered car. His feet start to numb because of the cold flood which soaks through his boots to his white, silky socks. His feet feel as if he stepped into the freezing cold ocean. As if he fell through ice and he was stuck standing there. The vast pile of the ice white snow feels almost like a quicksand around his black rubber boot. Foggy figures of people shovel the big piles of snow off the sidewalks. They scrape and pick at the glossy white ice which sticks to the sidewalk like a little boy clinging to his mother's side. His feet still sting as if he was stepping on pins and needles. His hands are damp with sweat from grasping the curved metal shaft attached to a socket which holds the blade. The blade cuts holes into the thick powdered snow which is removed from the endless pile. The jet black shovel is filled with slushy snow and crystal shards of ice. The end of
It was a frigid day in December. I wore so many clothes that I looked like a penguin. Every breath I took makes a small cloud and scattered. The gloves I worn seemed to be mildness like paws. The buildings behind me were covered by the thick snow. The wall became more brick-red because of the spotless white snow. Some snowflakes drift down on my hair gently. The snow was heavy, but not much wind. My friends bounced from worm house and laughed to me. “We should build a snowman. The snow is heavy enough.” One of my friends advised. We all cheered and started to pile the snow together.
Everyone knows that it has to be cold for a snowflake to fall, but snowflakes have a much more detailed life then that. There is a lot more to a snowflake then just being cold, snowflakes have journey that is made just for them. The delightful, soft and majestic partials we call snowflakes have a certain way to form, they all have a different appearance, and they have to have a certain condition just to stick. These snow flakes have a lot ahead of them lets dive in to the life of a snowflake!
Writing a paper on the writing process is pretty hard. The writing process is different from one person to another. You come across questions like, 'What exactly is the writing process?'; and 'Must you follow one persons writing process if yours is different?'; This is where I came across the answer to my questions, write however you wish to write. If one person likes free write first and another person likes to write a draft first, let them do how they please.
It was a normal winter morning. I woke up freezing my butt off. The night before we
