“How-To” Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich In order to create a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, the first step is finding an area where a peanut butter and jelly sandwich can be made. A clean counter with enough space for you to lay out all your ingredients and assemble the sandwich is ideal. Second, gather all of the ingredients and materials, two slices of loaf bread, a jar of peanut butter, a jar of jelly, a spreading knife, and a plate. To begin constructing the sandwich, make sure the bag has the uneven side face-up on the counter. Then, grab the twist tie, and turn both end in opposite directions until it comes off. Pull the hand, still holding the bread, out of the bag, pull the hand in a upward motion, and then lower the hand down again so that the bread is on the right side of the plate. Then, repeat that with the other piece of bread but put it on the left side of the plate. Now that both pieces of bread are on the plate, move over to the jars of peanut butter and jelly. Put the dominant hand on the top of the peanut butter jar. You should feel slight ridges on the lid. Slightly clench your fist, so that you have a tight grip on only the lid, and begin twisting it towards the right while holding the base of the jar with the other hand. Once the lid begins to feel loose, lift it off of the jar by grabbing it in an upward motion. If the lid doesn't come off, twist it to the right some more until it's loose enough to come off. After opening the peanut butter, pick up the knife in the dominant hand, holding it by the side that is not pointy. Hold it with the tip not in your hand facing slightly downwards, at about a ninety degree angle from your arm. Then, lift the knife up about the jar of peanut butter.
