Introduction to the world of Procter and Gamble (P&G) Procter and Gamble commonly known as P&G, is an American multinational fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) company. Until this year, they sold about 180 products across 180 countries. On August 1st 2014, they decided to stop the sale of 100 products and emphasized more on the remaining 80 products to get better results. These products generate about 95% of the company’s profit. Procter and Gamble, are majorly popular across the world for their products in the Personal Care section. Their purpose is to “provide branded products and services of superior quality and value that improve the lives of the world’s consumers, now and for generations to come”. History of Procter and Gamble Procter and Gamble was founded by William Procter and James Gamble in 1837. They had moved from the United Kingdom to the United States. P&G’s headquarters is located in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. P&G entered Australia and New Zealand in 1985, by acquiring a local company called Richardson-Vicks Inc. In January 1989, they renamed the company to Procter and Gamble Australia Pvt Ltd.
