Proctor: The Roles And Responsibilities Of A Student

Decent Essays

A proctor is someone who supervises students during an exam. His duties consist of ensuring that the student has the proper identification to meet the standards of the accrediting agencies, to ensure that a student doesn't take the exam for another person, and to guarantee that the exam result is accurate and the students don't cheat. (UoPeople, n.d.) It is necessary that the proctor be a reputable person of at least 21 years of age, have access to a reliable internet connection, be unrelated to the student or any student of the university, and must have no interest in the student's performance on the exam. (UoPeople, 2016) Alternately students are allowed to use an online proctoring service such as ProctorU, although this is a paid service.
