Professional Poster Design Session at Makerspace
Business Communication The Professional Poster Design Session at Makerspace was an out of class experience held at the Library Learning commons in late March. While in attendance I was introduced to a variety of skills, tips and hints on how to make a high quality poster board presentation, whether it be for a class presentation or a professional business presentation. I was successfully able to connect this experience to the SNHU School of Business Outcome: Business Communication. I was able to make connections with this outcome due to the fact that this experience helped me to develop oral presentation skills in verbal as well as nonverbal ways. The coordinators of this activity exposed us to multiple ways in which we can develop and create an effective poster. For example, Chris Cooper, showed us the importance of designing posters to look professional as well as using high-quality images, graphics, and graphs to help communicate with my audience in a more advanced and proficient nonverbal manner.
When I concluded this experience, I was then able to take what I had learned from the session, and apply it to the design of my poster board presentation as well as the communication styles both verbally and non-verbally that I would use for the presentation.
