The document I chose to design is my resume. The reason as to why I chose this particular document is because I felt my resume was very appealing. My resume was three pages and did not have good use of white space. Although it had a very professional look to it, my resume didn’t match my style. Also, it was a word template and I wanted it to have a reflection on my professional self. The purpose of the document is for potential employers to see my previous experience, skills, and accomplishments. The first thing I decided to change around was the header. My original header had a lighter blue boarder on the top of the page. I changed this to a purple line where this boarder was at the header and also added one to the footer to make it professional

So far to date I feel as if I’m excelling at being a good student. I cannot fathom being late to class or anything else for that matter. I always try to be prepared and so far, I feel that I have succeeded though I thought I forgot my glasses once and nearly had heart failure. I greatly enjoy the class participation aspect of this class. As a student growing up I was so shy the mere thought of speaking out was mortifying. As an adult who is seeking out an education it is strange how I view the whole process differently. When I have a question I ask it plain and simple and strangely the floor has yet to open and swallow me whole. Oh to have this wisdom in the 7th grade. I find that asking questions has actually been a conduit to friendship in this class as well. A fellow student sat next to me and said “you ask good questions! I’m sitting next to you.” I can’t begin to explain what that did to my self-esteem. To know that my speaking out has had a positive effect on someone else is so amazing. What’s more amazing is the fear I have before asking questions which usually goes something like oh my gosh please don’t sound like an idiot.

Over the quarter, I have completed 14 self-assessments that have opened my eyes to who I perceive myself to be and how this can affect my future career path. All 14 of these assessments focused on an aspect of my personality that is embedded and seen in how I view situations and how I conduct my daily life. I took the self-assessments very seriously and asked my family members and current housemates for feedback throughout this process. Some of these assessments confirmed my personal thoughts on the matter and few of the assessments opposed and revealed new qualities about myself that I had not thought of. Overall, this was a revolutionary experience and I would suggest thing process to anyone who wants a clear vision of him/herself.

I feel as though these skills are very important given the ability
It was only after I understood the interdisciplinary and cooperative nature of the College of Human Ecology during my visit to Cornell this past summer that I fully realized the school was the perfect fit for me. While the college’s mission, “To improve lives,” is a simple one, the steps taken to achieve such an objective cuts across multiple disciplines. The information session reinforced my understanding that science, math, economics, human psychology and an understanding of cultural diversity all play a strong role when formulating public policy. As a high school debater, I examined every side of a given resolution, researched existing governmental policies and used compelling evidence in order to prove assertions. Amongst the various
