Our school is a part of the New Tech Network and we follow the structures for project-based learning implementation that the network provides. The model consists of three major elements, students solving real world problems, students and staff developing a culture of “trust, respect and responsibility”, and an emphasis on one-to-one technology. In order for this type of environment to thrive, project planning and assessment practices are key to ensure the students are getting the most out of their experiences.

Project Based Learning is a teaching method that allows students to gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an engaging and complex question, problem, or challenge. Through this approach students acquire a deeper knowledge through active exploration of real-world challenges and problems. Beautiful Stuff! is a book written by Cathy Weisman Topal and Lella Gandini that shares the journey of real teachers in a real school who were inspired by educators from Reggio Emilia, Italy. Cathy Topal spent two mornings a week in the preschool and kindergarten as a visual aid teacher. Lella Gandini consulted with teachers about aspects of the Reggio Emilia approach. The teachers in book Rite Harris and Debbie Grubbs observed and recorded what happens when the focus is on process rather than product in project- based learning. The book provides approaches on how to nurture the creativity of children, which is a key part in a child’s development. In my paper I will summarize the five chapters within the book, along with providing two researched based article on project based learning (PBL), and give insight into my beliefs of project work with children.
The reliability of an assessment in a perfect situation should produce the same results if marked by another tutor or if that examiner unknowingly receives the same paper again. If different marks are given the assessment is consequently unreliable and proves that this assessment is subjective.
Initial assessment can be described as set of procedures we go through to determine what previous experience, skills and abilities a learner has. The process may include skills scan screening for numeracy, literacy and language as well as learning styles and skills abilities, and recognise any prior R.P.L .The results of initial assessment should form individual learning plans so that training and support are delivered that will meet the needs of each learner .Formative assessment is the on-going assessment made in order to adapt to learners needs and respond to learning. This project was quite expeditious due to the number of alternate subjects studied within the constraints of school. This made it quite difficult to complete because time limits were evident and tested. This could have had a substantial impact on the project itself, however, it did not because of skill and precision. Working individually could be beneficial in certain circumstances if one is smart, advantages might include independence and personal idea. Although, it was not easy coming up with good ideas and multi-tasking in different areas individually. In addition, working in a class group was helpful due to the amount of

For our capstone project, our group will be focusing on the examination and analysis of the newest version of the Android operating system, 8.0 or Android oreo. The ultimate goal of the project is to create a well documented and detailed source of information for forensic investigators examining Android devices running Android 8.0. Currently, there is very little forensic information about the newest version of Android, especially in terms of the newest features such as now playing, instant apps, among many others. Patient J.B. presented the office with chief complaints of coughs and sore throat that lasted about seven days. These symptoms are typically seen in respiratory tract infection or inflammation that is caused by viruses or bacteria. The initial differential diagnoses included Influenza, cough, common cold, community-acquired pneumonia, acute bronchitis, acute pharyngitis, and postnasal drip syndrome based on the chief complaints. The reason that why these differential diagnoses were considered is because they all have coughs as the symptom. Some of these differential diagnoses have both coughs and sore throat. JD, et al. The article “Project-Based Instruction: A Great Match for Informational Texts” by Nell K. Duke, discusses the concept of implementing project based learning and how it can markedly improve student’s education. According to Duke, project based instruction involves “working over an extended time period for a purpose beyond satisfying a school requirement” (Duke 2016). This includes doing projects in order to “build something, to create something, to respond to a question [students] have, or to solve a real problem” (Duke 2016). The article maintains the benefits of this type of instruction and includes specific examples of how it can be implemented in the school curriculum and Common Core State Standards. Over winter break, I struggled to come up with an idea for the capstone project. I was looking for a project that meant something to me, that I would want to dedicate an entire semester to working on. I was completely lost and did not know how I was going to choose one. Then I received an email from my colleague, Nathan Johnson, who asked if I was still interested in working with him for the capstone project and explained his idea. The idea was to create a depth perception system to help the blind in navigation, using convolution neural networks. I was on board right away and very excited about working on this project. The project sounded like because it seemed that it would be a project that would actually benefit society. With my instructions I plan for students to be successful when taking my assessments. I will use different forms of assessment such as quizzes, text, projects, portfolios, ect. I favor short quizzes given more often. Because I want to teach in a hands on way I value projects as an assessment. By using projects according to Piaget children learn best when they are actually doing the work themselves and creating their own understanding of what’s going on.
As a Middle School Coordinator at Roxby Downs Area School (RDAS) I have focused my research on creating an effective implementation plan to support RDAS with a pedagogical approach to project based learning (PBL) in the middle school years. This approach aims to better support students in their senior schooling. As the senior school currently aim to promote an adult learning environment which will incorporate project days, I have focused my direction on preparing students for this environment that will also assist in the development of 21st century learning. The implementation plan details the actions necessary to support the school in implementing and sustaining a PBL approach which serves as one of the key instructional methodologies to support the targeted middle school priorities identified in the school
