Last August I started working on my Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award that can be earned in Girl Scouts. This is an individual project for the girl to lead while incorporating the help of others. It must address a global issue in my neighborhood. The award consists of at least 80 hours of working on a community service project and 15 hours of that could go towards planning. I chose to remodel the activities room at Sunset Nursing Home. I chose this to be my project because my great-grandfather is a resident at Sunset Nursing Home. I spent a lot of time interacting with the residents and wanted to focus on doing something positive for them. I had to fill out paperwork to explain my vision on how I was going to do it and when I wanted …show more content…
Louis to explain my ideas and receive approval. When I was at my meeting to get approved one of the ladies told me about an event in St. Charles where they have a huge book fair and I could get as many books as I wanted for my project for free. I attended the event and got a whole trunk full of books, videos and audio tapes. The next step of putting my project in motion was getting donations to build the bookshelves. I went to almost every small family owned company or store in Union and Washington. I presented them with a flyer explaining what the money would be used towards and what the Girl Scout Gold Award was about. I received $300 in donations and all of my wood and paint supplies for free from Hall Brothers. Once I got all the supplies my mother's work friend helped me make the bookshelves. He taught me how to use the sander, saw and a edge cutter. After he showed me how to use them I mostly did it on my own and got the shelves done in two days. The shelves were the biggest part of my project. I did run into a few problems and couldn't make new curtains due to fire codes. I adjusted my original plan by painting some old photo frames my aunt gave me and printed off old photos of Union. I put them around the room as a good conversation
Ensure that you note any requirements that are out of scope to achieve absolute clarity about what is and is not covered by this project, and to avoid the potential for problems later on.

Education theory can either be descriptive like the sciences or normative like in philosophy. Education theory postulates what education processes are supposed to consist of; it sets the standards, norms, and goals in carrying out an education process. The scientific education theory gives a set of hypotheses, which have to be experimented and verified. The two approaches have produced two broad categories of education theories, which are the functionalist’s theory of education
Soldiers are trained to be altruist even when they don’t agree with it they are taught a sense of self service and duty and no matter how they feel about someone or what the person looks like they are going to help. Males and females soldiers the same.
In order to study human development and perform naturalistic observation I went to the mall. I selected a 9-year-old white girl as the subject for my observation. I observed the subject for 30 minutes. During my observation the subject was not interrupted and was not aware of my study.
The purpose of this observation assignment was to investigate and interpret the different types of interactions between the individuals and groups present, as well as the environment in which these interactions take place. The various power relationships and sense of hierarchy in addition to the status and authority among the different individuals are also extremely pertinent to this assignment, as the dissection of such interactions and relationships may implicate certain socially constructed gender roles placed on these individuals and society as a whole. The field observation was conducted at the restaurant Pancakes on the Rocks in Sydney. The role adopted, was that of observer as participant. Group structures and
The Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) project, undertaken by Electronic Data Communications (EDC) is the biggest government undertaking of its kind. It aims to provide a single seamless network which would provide a centralized communication to the Navy and Marine. It also aims to integrate the legacy systems with the new secured environment. The NMCI project aimed to connect about 400,000 desktops into a common network, which would provide a unified communication to all Navy and Marine bases (Calbreath, 2004).
This paper is going to describe the behavioral and cognitive traits that can be inferred from that behavior of a two year old child that I observed in the park as she was playing with her mother. The child that I observed is a girl, has blonde hair and is physically well-developed for her age. She is around two, weighs approximately twenty (20) pounds and is about two (2) feet tall.
Task 3 Project observation – review operational plan To review operational plan should consider many factors from different areas 1. Internal and external factors could affect the plan 2. Review policy and identify the gap 3. Develop WHS risk management procedures and policy 4. Classify impact and potential impact and look for appropriate way to deal with it Type of information required 1) Research from internet or asking question to customer, staff to find out the feedback 2) People performance and involvement 3)
I set out to find a place to begin my observations, not knowing what to fully expect, what I may find. So I decided to look around at what is close to my home that isn’t a place I frequent or have even visited at all. Then it came to me, the Starbucks that is only about a mile away is a perfect place for me to observe subjects that I would consider different from myself, seeing as how I consider such obscene prices for coffee ridiculous. Starbucks is a very popular chain of coffee vendors that describe their product as more about quality than what Americans are used to in typical coffee joints.
I have been a member of the Boy Scouts of America for seven years, and my hardest challenge came in 2016 when I decided to start work on my Eagle project (required to obtain the highest rank in scouting). An Eagle project is designed to allow scouts to exhibit their leadership capabilities in the community by organizing and executing a project to better the community. I decided to renovate an old outdoor classroom at the elementary school that I attended when I was younger: Sand Hill Elementary. Renovation was an understatement as the entire area had been neglected to the point that there was grass taller than a grown man surrounding the work site. Moreover, there were benches partially underground, no path to walk to the classroom, and there
At nine A.M. began my visit of Mission Dolores, I arrived to the Basilica, a light beige-peach color, looked similar to the Gothic style due to its outside ornamentation of little angel heads and repetitive floral adornment. I walked a bit further to the Mission, where I examined the simple outside exterior of white colored adobe walls and its brown simple roof, made from redwood logs. I thought both the Mission and Basilica appeared out of place beside one another. My thoughts further lingered on how the Mission appeared to have been left behind by the current times. It was located in an urban environment of cars, paved streets, apartments, a school, and shops. Entering into the Mission was a gift shop with an energetic, friendly staff member
The proposed document must be constructed to demonstrate the need for a new for-profit transportation service. It will present a business plan, and then go into detail about characteristics specific to this service.
Naturalistic observation takes place as scientists perform observations in a naturally occurring situation, without becoming actively involved. In performing naturalistic observations, a scientist does not make an effort to manipulate or change what is occurring. The purpose of this kind of experimentation is to create a detailed record of the events that happen and of perceptible associations between events, without having any control on the results. Apparently the objective in performing naturalistic observation is to arrange the data collection so that what is going on is comprehensible to the observer, but is not so important or conspicuous that they become the focus of attention or matter to participants.
