A long time ago before I was created there lived two brothers,” who were not like other men, nor yet like those mighty ones who lived upon the mountain top.” One of the brothers name was prometheus, or Forethought, he had the power to see the future. Prometheus was always preparing for everything that would happen in the day coming up, next week, next year, or a hundred years from now. The other brother Epimetheus, or Afterthought, was just like Prometheus, but the total opposite. Instead of Epimetheus thinking of the future all he thought about was the past. The brothers worked for the great god Jupiter. Jupiter was known as the mightiest god of all, he sits on his throne at the very top of Mount. Olympus watching over mankind below.

When North East Ohio Medical University sponsored a student led project, BetheBeautifulU was formed. Our campaign’s goal is to expose social media’s negative effect on teenage self-esteem due to its focus on Eurocentric standards of beauty. BetheBeautifulU’s purpose was to confront Cleveland's high school issues with self-esteem hidden within high school culture. We came up with numerous topics, like body positivity, but the one that was deeply anchored in our school was colorism. Colorism in Cleveland school districts and the media perpetuates the idea that lighter skinned people are more beautiful and most accepted compared to dark skin people. During our seminar to promote BetheBeautifulU, we asked
When the thought of the tragic events of 9/11 comes to mind, most people think about death and despair. It takes a certain perspective to understand and appreciate another side of the events. Heroes, in their truest form, rose from the smoke of 9/11. From going the extra mile to save someone in worse condition than them, to aiding to the rescue and evacuation of Manhattan, all of the heroes on 9/11 did something that wasn’t required of them, something that they did selflessly, helping ones who, even in their own desperation, were worse off than themselves.
The Prairie Meadows Scholarship will help me to pursue an education at the University of Iowa. With the money given I would use it to earn a degree in engineering or a degree dealing something with the law. My favorite subjects in High School were math and science. My whole life math has always come easy to me and for some odd reason I have a passion for math. During my Junior year of High School I took my second physics class and gained an interest in physics. Besides math and science, when I was a young boy I always dreamed of becoming a police detective, I used to run around the house pretending I was getting all of the “bad guys”. Now a days I also find being a lawyer fun and intriguing. I plan on earning my degree and graduation college.
New ideas derived from self-reflection enable us to develop in ways that are spiritually linked to the future. The inexorable passage of adulthood is established by the motif of time, indicating that life is continuously moving forward. The personification of time “guiltless minute hand” suggest that time is not responsible for our future, but we are. Additionally, the dysphemistic personification of “time was killed” foreshadows the cessation of childhood. Eventually, the

Boethius was a philosopher teaching at the end of the Roman empire, in his 40’s he was arrested for suspected conspiracy with the Eastern Roman Empire and was eventually put to death at the age of about 44/45. Whilst in prison Boethius wrote his book, ‘The Consolation of Philosophy’ where he discusses in great depth with Lady Philosophy issues with God’s omniscience. In his writings, Boethius identifies an issue with God’s foreknowledge, our personal autonomy and the impact of how we are to be judged as when we enter the life after this. He identifies that if God has foreknowledge and knows our future, He then knows what we are going to do which
