No matter who you ask, it is evident that the topic of abortion is very controversial. Many people have been asking themselves the same question for many years now, do you think abortion is ethical? Abortion has been a heated argument amongst citizens, political activists, and several religions all across the world. Those who are against abortion are known as pro-life and argue that abortion is wrong because it kills human life. On the other hand, there are people who are in favor of abortion are known as pro-choice. They believe women are able to do as they wish with their bodies. Abortion has many pros and cons that deserve to be properly discussed and deliberated upon, before someone makes a decision to support or oppose it. In this …show more content…
There are different circumstances that could have led to that pregnancy, sometimes including rape. If a rape occurred and it was the reason that led to the pregnancy, why should a victim feel as if they have to live with raising the child of the person who has caused destruction in her life? Also thinking about the child, why should he/she grow up to have no father figure? Additionally, when the child grows up and learns that he/she was a result of a rape and that their father is a terrible person; this could lead to resentment of the parent by the child. It is definitely hard to justify saving a life of a child that will be a constant reminder of the horror someone was put through.
Furthermore, a woman should have the right to control their body, nobody should tell you what to do with your body. There are many more arguments that support abortion, one of the strongest arguments being that life doesn 't start until birth, once the fetus becomes a human being (Zang para 2). Therefore, abortion is not murder or taking a life, it is simply preventing a life from occurring. In most situations, this wouldn 't be in enjoyable life, most abortions are centered around a life that would be filled with trauma (procon.org para 3). For all of these reasons discussed above, abortion as a practice can be justified.
Although there are many reasons why people
Abortion is one of those heavy topics that either side can be right or wrong. Abortion mostly gets divided into two sides; Pro-Life or Pro-choice. On the side of Pro- life a person believes that the government has an obligation to preserve all human life, regardless of intent, viability, or quality of life concerns. On the side pro-choice a person believes that individuals have unlimited autonomy with respect to their own reproductive systems as long as they do not breach the autonomy of others. (Head)
There are two main political parties you can choose from in the United States, The Democrats and the Republicans. There are also third parties you can choose from. People can choose to be part of any party. We are divided by the left and right side on the political spectrum. The right are more conservative and the left are more liberal. These two political parties show philosophical differences through their viewpoints on major topics. With so many differences between the parties, finding topics or issues upon which constituents agree on can be difficult.
Abortion has been one of the most popular and argumentative topics that has still yet to be settled. Ultimately the question we can ask when trying to solve this issue is whether or not pregnant women should have the right to kill an unborn baby. Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy before birth takes place and is a moral wrong. Can we as a society call ourselves human if we allow the deaths of unborn babies to take place? Those who take the side of pro-choice or as also known as pro-abortion often use statements concerning life, humanity, human rights and freedom to support their claims. I believe abortion should be illegal because we as a society must protect the human lives that are in danger whether or not they are in their first
“How can the “Dream” survive if we murder children? Every aborted baby is like a slave in the womb of his or her mother. The mother decides his or her fate” (Martin Luther King, Jr). This quote, by Martin Luther King Jr, represents how Martin Luther King Jr really feels about abortions, and how abortions relate back to the idea of slavery. As abortions are spreading all across the world many people have wondered if there are any positives to abortions? If there are not any positives to abortion then people may wonder, what are the negatives to abortions, and how do other people feel about abortions.
When a rape or family pregnancy happens it is a true crime. Making a woman carry the child full term would cause more harm to the woman. There are women out there that are too afraid to go to the police or to a hospital about a rape. Some choose to wait a few weeks after finding out and go in saying they just don’t the child. Some women don’t find out about the pregnancy until it is too late and have to choose abort after 13 weeks or carry to full term.”Only one percent of abortions happen from rape victims. (2) “
Abortion is a very controversial topic in today’s society. Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks (Abortion). Many people have issues regarding this topic, while some support the idea. This paper will be covering the pros and cons, people’s attitudes, and how a researcher could possible change your perspective on the topic at hand.
I always felt that was punishment for the abortion. I would want someone thinking of making this decision all that I went through and other women as well, however in a situation like this where the women became pregnant from a rape, I do not know that I could disagree with her, unless I could talk to her about adoption, but I feel she may relive the rape in her mind every day that she is pregnant. This is a decision that only the woman can make, only she knows herself enough to make the right decision for her.
I hold the belief that a woman should have the right to have an abortion if that is what she would like. This means I identify as a pro-choice supporter. If the government ever decide to illegalize abortion, it would mean that women do not 'own' their body and instead the lawmakers do. As soon as a third party, such as lawmakers, are given the power to decide that abortions are wrong and they decide to ban abortions, women are no longer in control of their own bodies which makes them powerless.
Abortion has been a very controversial issue in the United States for the past several decades. Many people think that is it morally wrong. To say that something is morally wrong is an opinion. Since everyone’s opinions are different on this topic there have been many court cases and protests against abortion. However there are a lot of people out there that believe that abortion is a rightful decision. My personal opinion on the abortion controversy is that every woman should have the choice on whether or not they are ready or are capable of raising a baby. Although there are many different choices one can make with regard to whether or not they are ready to raise a child, like adoption, it is still ultimately the woman’s decision on what they want to do. Carrying a child is a very stressful and sometimes painful process. There are a lot of financial decisions, health decisions, and future decisions that have to be carefully thought out before becoming a parent. Parenthood is a life-altering step one must take in life, and abortion is one way that a women can postpone or avoid changing their life in a very extreme way.
Of course when making any decision it is important to critically think out the whole situation. It is very important to not make irrational decisions. In order to help make the best decision the pros and cons should be taken into consideration. The pros of having an abortion could be but not limited to, being unable to financially afford a child. There may be health risk for the woman so an abortion may save a life. The pregnancy may have been a result of violent crime or assault. “The 'Hyde Amendment' refers to an amendment first offered by Rep. Henry J. Hyde in 1976 to the Departments of Labor and Health, Education, and Welfare, Appropriation Act, 1977. The amendment restricted the use of appropriated funds to pay
Abortion has been a controversial argument for many years and it has been largely debated by those who are pro-life and others who are pro-choice. They argue if women should have the right to abort their unborn child. Those who are Pro-life argue that a fetus is a human being that deserves the right to live and all human life is sacred including an unborn human regardless of how it was conceived. Individuals who are Pro-choice believe women have the right to be in control of their bodies and make decisions regarding if their baby should be aborted or not. It is important that women do have the right to make decisions about their own bodies and if they want to have a child or not. Abortions are right because it is not murder, it is safe, legal,
Abortion has been a controversial argument for years and continues to be. Many tend to argue the ethics surrounding abortion. Although some may say no one has a right to determine the value of human life, the reality is that abortion should remain legal because a woman has the right to decide what is right for her and the fetus.
A woman may have not been wanting a child and had no desire for it but one night, she could have been raped and stuck with the perpetrators seed. She deserves to have the chance to rid herself of an unwanted child. If not being able to do so, she could be left with an accidental child with most likely a financial problem with being able to take care of the child. It could send her into a place of debt with no help whatsoever because of this awful rape case.
This also will bring out the chauvinistic side of me but I also feel the woman is more responsible for providing birth control. If a pregnancy occurs because of rape and the woman was not allowed to abort it then I feel that numerous lives would be affected. The woman who has this child would feel the emotional and possibly the physical scars for the rest of her life. This would be carried on to the child and probably onto any future relationships and future children she might have. Every one is not the same, some women might be able to handle the situation with little difficulty and some might have great difficulty. I believe this is the main reason to be Pro- Choice.
We even see the same thing in the abortion experience. When a person becomes pregnant because of rape or incest there is a permanent symbol of the rape, at least until it is aborted. Women who have had abortions fear being rejected by God and loved ones. It is a very traumatic experience which takes time to heal. Pro-life activist feel that in society today, abortion is becoming the solution to carelessness. Abortion does nothing to help the rape victims, and that is the problem they are trying to address in the first place. Instead abortion encourages the victim to vent their anger out on others. Pro-life also believes that childbirth on the other hand can be a victory. For those victims who chose childbirth over abortion it can be a triumph. The choice can show that the victim is not going to let rape destroy her life. When the needs of a pregnant victim are closely examined it can be shown that abortion is not the answer and is in fact only worsening the problem.
