What makes up an ordered society? Do you think you live in an ordered society? I believe that an ordered society has to deal with the government, advancements, and the beliefs of the people that make up the society. Ancient India and china did all of these so that way they could try and have an ordered society. They had set government rules, always had advancements, and had different sets of beliefs who made them who they are. The way that a government runs impacts if they have an ordered society. In a ordered society the government will try to do what they think will help the people at the time. Back in ancient India and china they had the saying “an eye for an eye” meaning if you did something you will get the same in return. At the time the movement did this because they thought that it would work best for them. Now a days we do not have this because it does not fit in our society and would make it ordered. We are not as relentless in everything we do. The thing is though that a government in a ordered society will change to what fits at the time. If the government is powerful and no one is happy …show more content…
If a country does not advance or develop at all then they will be left in the dust. Other countries will be in order and way more advanced. For example in ancient India and china they advanced in many different areas such as medicine, communication, mathematics, farming, and they also develop very fast. Ancient china was separated form everyone else do to huge mountains that no one really wanted to go through. So, they only knew what they were doing and were not distracted. They became a ordered society by developing commination, mathematics, and farming by themselves. If they did not have advancements then they would never have become a ordered society. It is the same thing now a days. The big, powerful, ordered countries are always advancing and developing new things to help have a ordered
The caste system initially served to maintain strict social boundaries between the invaders and the previous inhabitants. Through the generations, the origins of the caste system were forgotten and it became the general rule of a single society (University of Wyoming, 1997).
A little while back there was a time when the government was so powerful that they could do whatever they wanted to do and you couldn’t do anything about it. For a long time people had to obey an absolute monarchy style of government this type of government people had no say in their country’s laws or anything really, and generally lived however their king wanted them to live. Normally the king was only concerned about keeping and expanding their power. So their biggest job was to stop tyranny all together. They stopped tyranny by using four methods: federalism, separation of powers, checks and balances, and balancing out large and small states.
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference." (Robert Frost) In today's world there is no tolerance for the individual thinker. It is not acceptable to modify or bend the rules of society. Society is civilized, and to be civilized there must be rules, regulations and policies that prevent. Individuality leads to a mess of chaos. To prevent disorder, institutions in society keep these rules strongly enforced. Man creates these institutions in order to provide convenience and stability in everyday life. Then instead of man running these institutions, the institutions begin to reverse the role of power and
Since the beginning of humanity, there have always been the rulers, and the ruled. The rulers have always been the government, and the ruled has always been the people. One would believe that the government would be truthful and be interested in their people's well being, but clearly, this is not the case. In fact, lies are often more common than the truth. Facts are changed based on the governing party's current needs. The government wants to control their people, to have an unquestioning, thoughtless population that make them more powerful, as this is their main priority. As a generalisation, the government is more interested in their well-being than that of the people who drive it.
From the majestic words of the brilliant Philoshope John Locke, a governmental system has the obligation to provide and work for the people, in either a direct or indirect matter. The system should satisfy and benefit the citizen in every possible aspect, rather than preventing the forward advancement of a nation’s people. Locke believed that the
During the Enlightenment it was thought political power should be divided between different classes and the laws of a government should not urge any man or women to rebel. The philosopher Montesquieu thought to in order to avoid tyrant, you needed to not have laws and rules that restrain the people too much.“A government may be constituted, as no man shall be compelled to do things at which the law does not oblige him.” In society today, our laws are made and enforced so no one should feel confined but also people feel safe and protected. Montesquieu also thought that the way to prevent abuse was to separate governmental
In all societies both modern day and past, there has been some sort of government. In history many of these governments have abused their power and have become too powerful. In these cases it was the right of the people to protest. All past societies have agreed the less power a government has the better. In an essay Civil Disobedience, written by Henry David Thoreau the text states “That government is best which governs less” (Thoreau 1). If the people of a society feel that the government is inexpedient. Governments should be for the people by the people.
Each type of government holds different views as to the role the leaders and citizens should perform in their country .Different types of government include, oligarchy where the government is run by the best leaders, Tyranny, where they believe those in power should have complete control over its people. In the United States of America, we believe in democracy, rule by the majority. The main problem with our type of government is maintaining it. Our government and its citizens have lost sight of their roles and responsibilities, in government.
Ronald Reagan once said, “Government’s first job is to protect the people, not run their lives.” In many ways, this statement applies to governments all around the world. People deserve the freedom to participate in the government, live their lives in peace, and not have the strict rules of the government keep them from doing so. However, in some cases, the government does need to control people’s lives to a certain degree to keep people and their rights safe.
Order and freedom are both necessary and beneficial towards the citizens and society with the aim to promote harmony, yet they both contradict each other. This contradiction has existed throughout many years and it is still hard to decide which one is ideal for the society. This essay will discuss and analyze if order or freedom is more important for political systems.
Is it possible that the foundation of all complex social structures is as simple as the more cunning mooching off of the farmers and artisans since the settling of that culture, or is a social hierarchy and king a natural and necessary component to the survival of advanced people groups?
These societies would then form into hierarchical civilizations leading to the modern state where laws and rules can not only be made but enforced to make peace and order is kept within the state. (Forde, 15)
In the early stages of the development of complex societies, many different factors had a powerful impact on the way the societies developed. In some areas of the world, religion was the primary force that led to the creation of organized societies. Other areas developed on trade routes that made it necessary to develop complex societies to incorporate the growth of different economic classes and the wealth they generated into the structure of the government. In each part of the world where complex societies emerged, the communities were responding to different types of challenges and the
Equality and the overall social and economic condition of any country derives from leadership. There is no such existence as a perfect government; however, institutions such as a democracy or the republic, as we see in the United States, have come rather close. Our democratic republic has established a system in which leaders and officials are chosen, directly or indirectly, by the people. In order to succeed in gaining such a position of power, the ideology a leadership candidate transmits must be appealing to undoubtedly, many of the general public. With that being said, throughout history there have existed numerous examples of autocracies— systems of government in which there exists one supreme ruler, or a few people with total control.
He pointed out that different economic levels have their own requirements and they may not follow the same process of industrialization. Moreover, he raised the most influential theory related to late industrialization that the economically backward states may have rapider growth rate as they are late comers, and the national development process relied on the degree of economic backwardness. That is to say the more backward a country, the faster it will advance (ibid).
