Animal Testing
People have been debating about who are more important, humans or animals and should animal testing be ban and become human testing?
Animals are very closely related to humans but there are a lot of differences between us and animals. Animal testing can make humans sick or can make humans healthier.
The advantages of animal testing that the author will be talking about are; Animals are similar to humans, Prevent human testing and Helping researchers find treatments and drugs. Next is the disadvantages. Drugs that pass animals are not always safe for humans, 95% of animals being experimented on are not protected by animal welfare and finally most tests are flawed which wastes the lives of animals.
Pros of animal testing.
Animal testing helps with many things for humans. Lots of people think animal testing is cruel but many think it’s helpful for medicine and other products.
First, animals are very closely related to humans. Mice and chimpanzees are the closest to humans. Mice are 98% and chimpanzees are 99% similar. Next, it

It can harm humans and animals.
First, drugs that have passed animal testing doesnt mean its always safe for humans.
Many humans have gotten sick or have died from products that have been tested on animals. For example; The 1950's sleeping pill thalidomide had caused 10,000 babies to be born with deformities. Second,95% of animals being tested are not protected by animal welfare. Mice, rats, birds and fish are those 95% not being protected. The animals not being protected by AWA are abused and mistreated. Finally, many experiments have been flawed which wastes the lives of animals. Studies have found many serious flaws in the majority of publicly funded US and UK animal studies using rodents and primates. 87% of the studies failed to randomize the selection of animals. Animal testing has many disadvantages and can harm humans and
Animal testing is not only beneficial to human but also animals, at least to those who are not used in the experiments, such as pets and endangered species. Along with researching for new treatments and medicines for
Animal testing is a common practice in current life that is necessary to ensure the safety of the humans that will be using the tested product. There are many good and bad aspects of animal testing, but the pros clearly outweigh the cons. Animal testing has been around since ancient times when animals were dissected to gain knowledge about the body and organs. The animals killed from animal testing make up a tiny percentage of the total animals killed every year. When just considering the animals used for food compared to the animals used for testing, testing animals make up a mere 2.6 percent of that number. Public safety far outweighs the lives of the small amount of animals killed.
One of the benefits of animal testing is animal testing also helps other animals with diseases. The reason why animal testing help animals is because humans and animals share the same diseases such as cancer, high blood pressure, asthma, and other diseases. Just like humans, animals also need the same
Animal testing has been a controversial topic for many generations throughout the world. People against animal testing say that animal testing is cruel and inhumane and
The harmful use of animals in experiments is not only cruel and inhumane but also often ineffective. Animals do not get many of the human diseases that people do, such as major types of heart disease, many types of cancer, HIV, Parkinson’s disease, or schizophrenia. There have been past occasions where drugs passed on animals weren’t even safe. There is no excuse for animal testing in today’s techy world, there are now many alternatives for animal testing that would put an end to the pain and suffering endured by these innocent animals during human testing.
The term “animal testing” refers to procedures performed on animals for the benefit of humans. An estimated 25 million animals are tested on each year in the United States for scientific and commercial testing. It is used for biomedical research, medical usage, behavioral research, cosmetics, and the list goes on. Research on living animals has been practiced since at least 500 B.C. Many argue that animal testing is necessary for research, but with the medical technology we have today, this has been proven incorrect. The cost of animal testing is hundreds of thousands per year in the U.S. Animal testing is cruel and should not be allowed because it is abusive, expensive, and there are substitutes.
It is estimated that each year over 100 million animals in the United States are used for animal testing (ProCon.org, 2017). This is unlikely an underestimate as it is impossible to receive a correct count worldwide. Thousands of animals are to be euthanized from the complications they endure from testing. Animals are used to test scientific developments and commercial products. New medical and non-medical experiments are tested on animals to verify the harmfulness of new medications or the safety of a product that will be used on humans. Although the importance of animal testing brings more medical advancement over the years using fewer humans in experiments, it is still an expensive way of researching inaccurate results and at the same time, it is a practice of animal cruelty.
Animal testing is essential to medical research, saves human and animal lives and is required by the FDA to pass new drugs.
There are millions of companies and research institutions that use animal testing. They believe that the research and information gained from animal testing outweighs the harmful effects. Scientists believe that they are making an impact on the world and that they are providing good outcomes. One possible positive outcome of animal testing is that it is almost guaranteed that humans will have no serious side effects and that the products are safe for use. However, to
“Each year almost 100 million animals are killed due to animal testing” (woods 6). Animal testing is when animals are tested on to make sure products are safe but sometimes can be harmful to the animals. Animal testing all started with the theory of evolution. More than half of the products in shopping stores are tested on animals. There are some people who consider animal testing to be a pro because it helps them and others. There are even people who are truly against animal testing and will work their hardest to stop animal testing. Although animal testing Helps Both animals and humans it is not safe and it has side effects that are very dangerous and can hurt animals.
Animal testing has helped develop many life-saving treatments for both humans and animals and there are rules that prevent the mistreatment of animals in laboratories. Millions of animals are used each and every year in the United States for scientific and commercial testing. They are used to develop medical treatments, test the effects of medications, check the safety of products, and much more. Research on living animals has been practiced for many years and has provided many benefits to us.
Many people believe that animal testing is cruel and unnecessary, but I think that it’s extremely important. Animals should be used for commercial and scientific testing because they are the most similar creature to humans, it also assures safety for humans before using the products and helps to find medical treatments.
First, animal testing is very harmful to animals. 100 million animals are harmed or killed because of testing. For example, the poor animals are given painful tests until they are not needed any more or eventually die. Just because they don't test things on humans, doesn’t mean that they should be doing it to animals. Animals testing is harmful to innocent animals.
Thanks to animal research, many diseases that once killed millions of people are now either treatable or curable. Animal testing has not only benefit humans, but animals as well. Some animal testing has lead to life saving and life extending treatments for many of the animals used for testing. A complete alternative to animal testing has yet to be discovered.
Can you imagine being locked up in a cage with no control over anything? Not even when you eat? That is how life is like for an animal in research labs. They are abused and the lab researchers don’t care. Even though there are a very few benefits to using animals for research, there are many benefits for not using them. Animal testing is costly, animals are mistreated, and there are many other safe alternatives.
