You’re sitting there staring at the bill that just came in the mail. As a underpaid teacher, it’s hard to pay all your bills. As you’re looking at it, an athlete is getting millions for not helping nor saving people, just entertaining, while many people are struggling paying just one bill . Even if they have an actual job that is beneficial to people. Athletes are definitely overpaid.
With many athletes pretty much used to getting large amounts of money, they tend to spend a lot of it at a time which can cause them to financially struggle when they retire. For instance, the 2009 sports Illustrated article states that 78% of National Football League players are bankrupt or financially

And if they think that they deserve all that money because of injuries, for this reason, maybe they shouldn’t play at all if they think they are that injury prone. Athletes aren’t even acquired because of skill level, it’s all about popularity or how much money they make. They don’t even work for an entire year and still get paid millions just for entertaining people. Why use all that money on something we don’t need when we can focus most of it on more important things like teachers or policeman or firefighters. Something that really matters. In conclusion, athletes should not be paid more than they are worth.
You’re back looking at the bill. It still bugs you how you’re making a difference but still underpaid. It’s very unfair how athletes only play children's games or don’t even play the game but still get mega sized incomes. We could easily change this. All that needs to happen is lower athletes pay. It’s not like they are gonna get underpaid, just not paid as high as they are now. Lowering athletes pay will bring a lot of good in the world that we desperately need. So, athletes are very
Athletes deserve the money they receive because of their hard work, dedication, and commitment to their passion. They wouldn 't be where they 're at just sitting on the couch all day long doing nothing. They put a lot of time and effort into their futures. Most people don 't even realize the sacrifices that a pro
Do I think athletes are overpaid? In my mind, absolutely not. Giancarlo Stanton of the Miami Marlins was given a three hundred plus million dollar contract over thirteen years. A long time ago, the United States bought Alaska for seven point two million dollars.. Granted that money was probably way more valuable then it is now, but now it seems like millions of
In my opinion, athletes are way overpaid for their career. To begin, athletes have more money than they know what to do with. For example, Derrick Coleman, a basketball player for the nets, filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy after having taken loans from numerous sources throughout Detroit. Because pro athletes like him have so much money, they choose to use it in an amiss way. Athletes can act in a very inane manner with all the money they make each year. Next, we all love to watch athletes, but they aren't achieving or gaining anything important out of all
Do you think professional athletes are overpaid? You might think they earn more than what they are worth for playing half a year, but athletes have many things which contribute to their salary. Some of these things include their earnings from endorsements, ticket sales, performance, merchandise, their social contributions, and TV ratings. Although there are many factors that contribute to their salary, professional athletes may be overpaid because as a society, we contribute to their success. So, in the end, part of the athlete’s salary comes from the people who support the sports in the first place. These are just some of the reasons why athletes are paid so much money.
Athletes are overpaid by their couches and businesses just for playing in their team’s games and doing commercials. Even after they retire they still make more money than they work for. They are paid millions every year, Shaqeel Oneel made enough money that he could hire builders to make him a full sized basketball court in his basement. Furthermore, Peyton Manning makes about 700 thousand after he retired. Most athletes don’t know how to handle that much money a pro football player bought a Ferrari even though he didn’t know how to drive. Another pro NFL player spent 30 thousand dollars on earrings. Some pro athletes know how to spend money a few athletes invested their money in companies. Other athletes donated to charities and other organizations. Few athletes do
“It may seem unfair that athletes get paid to play a game, but remember who they are actually playing for: us.”Athletes get paid more money, but they do non-stop work/practice. Firefighters might go to a few training lessons in a lifetime. Athletes Constantly are improving.”We have to have the mentality that we have to work for everything we’re going to get.” -Stephen Curry. Many professional athletes get paid millions of dollars. Some people think that athletes shouldn’t get paid as much as they do. I honestly think they deserve to get paid like they do.
Athletes do not deserve the salaries they earn every year. Yes, they entertain people every year, but i do not think someone should earn thousands and thousands of dollars for one game of basketball, or one game of football. I also think that pro athletes salaries affect how they
The first reason why they don't get payed to much is that professional athletes need more money for injures. Many athletes work there butt off practicing their sport to win. When they play the athletes bump into each other. That can cause people to fall and get injures and concussions. Many don't have the money to pay for the doctor or hospital to fix or cure there concussions. Many break a part of there body and they might not have enough money to pay for a cast.
In 2015, LeBron James, dubbed “The King”, donated 41 million dollars to help send kids from challenging backgrounds to college. Many professional athletes get paid millions of dollars. Some people think that these athletes are largely overpaid. Others believe they deserve the millions that come their way. Personally, Professional athletes work hard and deserve their high salaries.
Unfortunately, many feel that professional athletes should get paid more than teachers because they entertain people. However, professional athletes get paid for running around and playing children's games. In fact, "Professional athletes are extremely overpaid for the “jobs” that they do. " The money athletes are being paid would be better spent paying teachers or people who do something for the community.
Some people believe that professional athletes are not being paid enough, however what they are not thinking about is the other jobs out there. Some more important jobs are not getting paid enough even when their job tends to be more important and beneficial than athletes.
In conclusion, we should accustom ourselves, then, not to judge solely by what is seen, but rather by what is not seen. So, contrary to bandwagoning on the stereotyped salary of athletes, look deeper to find the real information that many people don’t think to look for; that athletes are in fact NOT
They shouldn’t be payed as much because they endured less schooling and it was proven that athletes can support themselves with much less of an income. The first reason that athletes should not be paid as much is because of education. People often pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to go to college. College is where they will build skills and academics in order to be successful in adulthood.
Professional athletes get paid tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars every day while some people get athletes daily payment in a whole year and most likely work harder than athletes to get it. Athletes are overpaid because most people go to college, have long hours and work harder to get their money, whereas athletes don’t have to go to college, don’t have long days, and don’t work as hard to get the money they have. What I’m trying to tell you is that there is a really big inequality in money, it’s not fair. And we should do something about it.
One reason professional athletes are not overpaid, is they work extremely hard for their earnings. The athletes who make serious money are virtuosos, many of whom combine hard work with undeniable talent to make a career out of what they love. There’s a reason professional leagues only have about thirty teams, rather than one for each city in the country, talent is rare. What many people fail to see in an athlete is the amount of talent in them,
