Pros And Cons Of Being A Marine Biologist

When I was young I was so interested in marine life and how the world under water was so different from ours. It wasn't until I visited Mote Marine when I was exacerbated by the abundance of reef fish species, the beauty of coral reefs, and Mote Marine’s numerous research programs. This is when I knew that I wanted to get involved. I believe this internship will get me one step closer to following my dreams and educate me further on the vast ocean.

The dream of having majored in marine biology is one thing, but to get to have a marine biology degree is a fifth grader’s dream come true. The environment is heading in a rough direction. For example, ocean acidification is already a problem. The decrease in pH of our ocean acidity is causing coral reefs to die out—which houses thousands of organisms’ homes and food sources. Due to the contaminants, we release into the natural environment, we are slowly losing ecosystems every day. Therefore, I want to be the researcher to help save the oceanic life from these horrible conditions. Also, the career of marine biology can take a person anywhere, from the coasts of the Bahamas all the way to the depths of the Arctic Ocean. This provides the advantage

I knew that they worked with animals and that they studied the oceanic environment. They work on in the ocean and on land, depending on the task they work in groups or alone. Also, with marine biology I feel like one of my strengths is that I love being around the ocean and I love working with people.

Blue oceans and champagne colored sand and don’t forget the lovely sea creatures but some of them ever so frightening.All of these things are what a Marine Biologist works with and they do many more studies having to do with this kind of things.What it takes to be a Marine Biologist is a Bachelor's degree or higher and you also need to like what you are doing,be good at math,science,reading,making surveys and graphs and so on.

Killing and capturing animals is something that occurs on a daily basis, but with people such as marine biologists, the world can save endangered species. Marine Biologists need an ample amount of degrees and years of school to be successful. As a result, they will go exceptionally far in this career. While they do not make as much as a doctor or lawyer, it is a very rewarding career because they have a hand on approach of saving lives under the sea. I hear the laughter and shouts of children, the playful chatter of dolphins and the cries of birds soaring overhead. I smell salt, fish, and freshly popped popcorn. I taste the salt on my tongue when I breathe; the metallic sense parching my throat. I feel the smooth, silky, rubbery hide of the dolphins as the swim against the wall flipping their fins for more fish. I see smiling faces of children, wonder-filled eyes, families united, dolphins performing tricks, and trainers teaching man and beast alike. Water, wind, salt, sun, dolphins—all of these are a part of my dream, to become a marine biologist.

The life of Marine animals lies in the hands of scientist who try to study and protect them. From the early years of human life, marine animals have taken a part in the lives of humans as a source of food and everyday uses, but as the years have progressed and humans got curious we have started to study marine animal life and there ecosystems. Marine life has aided us and also it has perished and is still experiencing loses. The marine biology world has helped marine animals and has hurt them, but the controversial issues might actually outweigh the good things marine biologists have done and learned.

According to The Census of Marine Life, there could be as many as 8.7 million species on this planet. Assuming just 1% of these species go extinct each year, we estimate that around 9 species disappear each hour. With background extinction levels reaching up to 1000x higher than the natural rate, this means to me Zoology is more critical than ever if we wish to preserve and protect life. Growing up obsessed with any animal documentary I could find, my love for animals has never been doubted by friends or family. The relationships between species, their environments, and their physiology and behaviour have always been aspects that fascinate me and capture my imagination.

Marine Biologists have a wide variety of places and jobs that they can apply for. For instance, they could become a teacher and teach people about marine biology or they could be working as a zookeeper and take care of the animals.

I would like to thank the Navy’s National Marine Mammal Foundation for letting me be apart of such an incredible program and for introducing me to my new favorite marine mammal. I would also like to thank the professors within USD’s Marine Science Department for always encouraging me and supporting me to follow my dreams.

As a marine biologist you will need to have several years of schooling in order to have a successful career. Being a marine biologist can be an enjoyable and dangerous job, but the journey is worth the ride.

Marine Biology and Ocean Conservation is a very important major. It consists of many fields that deal with marine ecosystems and how they affect the world around them. Some fields of study are focused on conservation work, which is cleaning up the ocean, protecting wildlife, and rehabilitation.

The ocean, a curious home for a galore of variant creatures filled with wonder. With creatures bigger than humans, and others smaller than the tips of an eyelash. Nowadays, humans are incredibly interested in traveling into outer space to discover new territories, but Earth has an entire other world right underneath the water's surface. Ever since I was young, I had an infatuation with marine life and ecosystems.

The study of life is as interesting as life itself whether the creatures that we study walk on land, fly in the air, or swim in the ocean. Marine biology encompasses the ones that make the seven seas their home. It is the study and appreciation of marine life and their environments. From the sandy beaches to the ocean depths, from the tropical reefs to the polar ice caps, much of the life on earth thrives in the ocean, which affects us on land, too. It is understandable why we, as scientists, explorers, and curious kids would want to know more about what lives in the open sea.
