A veterinarian is a professional who practices veterinary medicine by treating diseases, disorders, and injuries in animals. I chose to research about a veterinarian because I have always loved animals and have always been interested in helping animals who are need of care. I interviewed Dr. Scaglione from Park Ridge Animal Hospital who is a veterinarian. I have no personal connection to the clinic but they are right across the street from Pascack Hills and it is convenient. I believe this career would be a good choice if I were to pursue it as my career.

But of course this may not benefit all students because not everyone wants to be a vet but the over all knowing of dangerous plants and animals could help them make smart decisions in a tight situation. Animals have always been a part of my life and are very close to my heart. I was brought home from the hospital to a sweet old Doberman, who treated me as her puppy until the day she died. She even helped me to learn to walk, patiently helping me along as I stumbled. My strong connection to animals over the years has led me to have a great respect for life and compassion for both people and animals. I have always had respect and admiration for the veterinarians who have treated ailing animals. This admiration kindled the spark that has always resided within me, leading to my interest in the veterinary profession, which has been expanding ever since. Since I was a young child, I have had but one career goal: to become a veterinarian. Every time I see an animal in need, it tears at my heart.

Like doctors, vets may focus on a one area of medicine. Before becoming a veterinarian, a specific education is needed (“Veterinarian”).
