If I had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, I would choose South Park. South Park is known for its many forms of humors, such as dark, and shock humor. These elements correspond very well to the kind of humor that I appreciate. During the time of being trapped in the TV show, I would befriend the four main characters, Kyle, Cartman, Stan, and Kenny. I would form a strong bond with the boys as well as take part in and witness their adventures as we would make trouble all over the town, school, and globe. Not only would I be able to witness the shenanigans of the boys, but I would also find myself witnessing their parent's endeavors. Kyle's parents are always stressed out over their kids or politics. Stan's mom deals with her alcoholic husband.
Acting is when an actor/ actress performs for people by means of portraying and telling somebody else’s story. Like any other job acting has its pros and cons, and people who act also have good and bad days just like any other person. However, some people try to become an actor/actress just for fame, money, and popularity. Sure it is nice to have those things, but if that is the only reason a person wants to act then there is a huge chance that their acting career will fail and they more than likely will not reach the goal of having fame, money, and popularity. On the other hand though if a human being’s passion is acting, then they should go after their dreams and achieve them no matter what. There are many reasons why acting is worth it. If the reason someone wants to act is because they love it, then “it can help them discover who they are, it can also assist actors/ actresses with expressing themselves better, it allows them to be more creative, it is fun, and it allows the people who act, especially famous thespians, to have a big influence on society and many people’s lives” (Meindl, Anthony).
There are many different TV shows out there about the medical field. Grey’s Anatomy, Night Shift, The Good Doctor, and so many more. There have been at least 56 different shows that have aired on TV since 1951. Although there are so many of them, they all have one thing in common, they are all slightly unrealistic. The episode, “One Day, One Room” of House MD watched in class shows many examples of this. Hospitals have very strict rules in regards to the actions of their medical staff, and termination can be a consequence for violations of these policies. Dr. House violated many standard hospital protocols and if it were in the real world he most likely would’ve received a consequence, possibly termination. Since in the show he is one of the best surgeons, that makes him almost irreplaceable. The purpose of this essay is not to focus on how unrealistic this show is but rather to focus on the ethical issues the show uncovers. I will explore the different actions taken by medical staff and explain why they were morally appropriate or not. Morally acceptable behavior is shaped by what society decides is correct and in this case what is morally acceptable is set by the hospital. Although we like to believe that we don’t have morality behavior problems in our hospitals, that is sadly not the case.
Fingerprints are usually fully formed by the 24th week of a pregnancy. Each one has a different pattern such as a whorl, loop, or an arch. No two fingerprints are alike, even identical twins don’t have the same fingerprints. The true purpose for fingerprints is unknown, but they are useful for identifying people ranging from crime scenes to crossing the border.
Death; is a grim, but frequently discussed topic. However Edgar Allan Poe’s poem, “The Raven,” brings a new light to the concept of death. While the topic of death is usually associated with sympathy and tragedy, Poe has succeeded in portraying death between new feeling rarely ever discussed or written about. These feelings reflect a sorrow that cuts so deep it morphs into a psychological breakdown and turns into madness. The story demonstrates the sorrow of a dead loved one’s imprint can leave on you forever.
If I had to be trapped in a television show for a month I would choose the Office. I would want to be trapped in Dunder Mifflin with Jim, Pam, Michael, Dwight, and the rest of the crew. Out of all the shows I have persisitently watched on Netflix I would pick the office because the environment on the show is almost always energetic and enjoyable. Michael Scott, the regional manager of the Scranton branch, is always telling jokes that offend at least one person in the office or new drama between characters. Every day there's a new challenge awaiting or a problem to be solved. Maybe I would be there during the month that Jim and Pam finally get married, or maybe when Holly comes and Michael instantly falls in love. Maybe I will get a chance
If I had to be trapped inside of a TV show for a month I would choose to be trapped inside of Mythbusters. The reason I would choose so would be because it involves some interesting and insane concepts and I would be able to do some of the things that normally happens on that show. My mind has always been quite inquisitive and I have always enjoyed building devices and structures. With Mythbusters I would be able to satisfy that desire and do what I enjoy doing, messing around while using my knowledge. The entire idea of Mythbusters is about discovering if certain myths or theories are true and in order to test said myths or theories they often have to construct a device or structure of some sort. Explosions are also plenty some in the show
If I was stuck in tv I would visit a couple show, but the first one I would visit is my favorite show “How to Get Away with Murder”. Even though I would probably end up dead by the end of the episode, I think it would be amazing to be on the tv screen with Viola Davis. During the episode, I would make it my mission to find out what happened to Wes, the main character that was killed off the show. Which is probably why I would end up dead. Wes was a very important character in the show and when we saw the commercial, that said someone from the Keaton 4 would be dying, I automatically crossed him off of the list of people. After all, he was
The cultural phenomenon ‘Reality Television (TV)’ has become an increasingly popular genre of television since its paroxysm onto the airwaves in 1945. The term ‘Reality Television’ can be defined as the genre of entertainment that documents the lives of ‘ordinary’ individuals through the exhibition of allegedly unscripted real-life scenarios, despite inquisitive inquiries disclosing Reality TV to entail facets of script. The postulations of media’s obligations to society in contrast to their current actions and media as a mirror to society - the normative theory, can also be utilised as an implement to apprehend Reality TV. Through the strict analysis of ‘ The Bachelor’ and the employment of the normative theory, the purpose and appealing factor of Reality TV can be deeply examined.
What pleasure do you get from watching a group of people humiliate themselves in the name of television? Media both in the UK and around the world seem to have "discovered" that so-called "reality" shows are very profitable, resulting in a growing string of such shows in recent years. Although not all are successful, many do achieve significant popularity and cultural prominence. That does not mean, however, that they are good for society or that they should be aired. Can you honestly say, that after absorbing the reality rubbish, you have learned something?
Forensic science can be defined as the scientific methods and processes in crime solving (International Student, 2017). 1. Most girls will do whatever it takes to be skinny and look like the stars that weigh 100 pounds "...the media influence on the cultural phenomenon of dieting and the perfect body. “Commercials and reality TV shows make you feel bad about yourself so you buy into the fad," Cohn said. The diet industry earns $50 billion each year on diet pills, and $8.4 billion is spent every year on cosmetic surgery. Women -- and men, Cohn stressed -- want to be thin, because large men and women are ridiculed" (Demmel). Eating disorders continues to be problem among young girls because of their role models. Girls on reality TV shows have that 'perfect' body and girls what to be everything like them.
Can you believe that reality television has actually been around since 1948? Most of us may have thought that this idea of real television just came about in the last decade but actually it’s been around for quite some time. In 1948 Candid Camera was the first reality show to be broadcasted on television. Many considered this to be the “granddaddy” of the reality TV genre (History of reality TV). This show actually began in radio broadcasting. Allen Funt was the man in charge of this whole new production. He started by simply taping complaints of men in service and broadcasting them over the Armed Forces Radio. This is what later became known as the television show, Candid Camera. Candid Camera was known for
Some common values perpetuated by reality TV includes materialism, and idealization of hard partying and a celebrity lifestyle without any regard for the consequences that may follow. Shows such as the Rich Kids of Beverly Hills and Shahs of Sunset feature the lives of young adults of wealth and privilege who live in southern California. The series depicts the extravagant trips they take, designer clothes they wear and the money spent on extreme alcohol parties and they are never shown working any regular jobs. Another example of cultural influence is the Jersey Shore where the cast is filmed the entire summer binge drinking, participating in risky sexual behavior and getting into fights and being arrested. Despite all of the bad behavior
It is a given that the culture we consume shapes who we are, more specifically what we view on television shapes the content of our minds. It is also generally known that children can be easily influenced by what they see on television. Reality TV is no exception to this rule. It may appear that reality TV is a benign phenomenon but it is in fact a virus that has quickly diseased our society. More specifically, it attracts girls most mercilessly by affecting them negatively as to how they perceive themselves. Indeed, girls who watch reality TV learn that deceit and meanness is normal behaviour in order to achieve success, begin to self-objectify more and have a higher expectation of more drama and conflict in their lives as well. The reality of reality TV is that it negatively portrays females. Is there no end to the onslaught on the female gender by television?
