Gun Control Gun control is a set of laws that regulates the buying and selling of firearms. On September 27, 2017 the New York Times wrote an article called How Gun Control Works beyond Washington. This article starts of by explaining how the population of the California condor was once declining but thanks to the ban of “toxic, lead-based ammunition.” (New York Times.) The article continues to point out that many of our republican delegates aren’t pushing to eliminate guns and are even trying to make it easier to buy silencers; a device that helps dampen the sound when you fire a gun. The articles conclusion states that regulating guns and ammo with make us all safer (New York Times.) Gun control is necessary because easy access to guns has changed the way we interact with the world, more guns don’t make us safer and we already know that it works. When I was 8 my parents and I took a trip to Washington State for a business trip. We stayed at a place called the lake crest lodge. It looked like a fairy tale. Around the back there was an open green field with flowers, and butterflies, and dozens of deer. At the time the only deer I had ever seen was Bambi, so I thought it would be a good idea to run up to the deer and pet it, and that’s exactly what I did. My parents stood there in shock because the deer didn’t try to run away.
