The words must be able to bring the read to the place. They have to experience the emotional ties of the environment, the smells and excitement, the fear and the horror. CCIB received a telephone call with an allegation against the facility. RP called to report that there is drug use and domestic violence happening in home due to the licensee runs a daycare. RP reported that on 10/9/2017 Veronica and Juan went to pick up children from school and Veronica asked staff at the school to call the police. Having had the opportunity to see both sides of the argument play out in the City of Memphis and as a member of the Memphis Police Department. I have become an advocate for requiring entry-level police officers to have at the very minimum an associate degree or the equivalent college credits. The college requirement can only be avoided with military experience. However, my position is not that more education makes you a better police officer or less education makes you a lousy officer. I believe that there should be a “happy medium” when it comes to police work. A good officer will be empathic, fair and in tune with the needs of the community and its members. Requiring a level of education for your entry-level officers speaks volumes about your agency and their dedication to professionalism. An educated police officer is less likely to utilize force when interacting with his co-workers or civilians. I spent my third and fourth session of my practicum with Constable Dwayne Harrison and Constable Paul Davis. Both members of the Lethbridge Regional Police Service (LRPS) are in the patrol unit; responding to calls and investigating. Patrol work is broad, responding to calls that mostly consist of theft, mischief, and domestic. It defines the police as a public service and making the public happy to have someone to solve their problems.

In Canada it is impossible to survive without working or having a way in which you are able to provide for yourself and your family. In today’s society everybody is in search of a job that requires minimal effort and includes outstanding benefits and pay. In this current economy it is very challenging since the hiring process is very selective and very prejudice. On top of that there are many additional things that do not allow us to achieve those preferred jobs or professions. Over the next 10 to 15 years, the most important demographic changes that will affect Canadian employers and workers are: an aging workforce, a better educated workforce, and immigration with greater workforce Diversity.

Police Brutality is becoming a massive problem in the United States. Just in the last year 2017, over 1,100 killings that corresponded to police brutality were reported. Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager, who was shot and killed on August 9, 2014. Rekia Boyd, 22 year old African American woman who was shot and killed on March 21, 2012. Tamir Rice, 12 year old African American boy who was shot and killed by police. All those reports were from Police Brutality and the list goes on. Police Brutality occurs all the time! So how does it get notified as Police Brutality?

Edgar Allan Poe, born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1809, lived a life filled with tragedy. Poe was an American writer, considered part of the Romantic Movement; he became an accomplished poet, short story writer, editor, and literary critic, and gained worldwide fame for his dark and gruesome tales of horror (Quinn). Although his writings were well received, Poe struggled financially. He was one of the earliest American writers to focus on the short story and has been credited with inventing the detective fiction genre (Quinn). He is known for great short stories like “The Cask of Amontillado,” “The Tell-Tale Heart” and “The Raven.” He died in 1849 from unknown causes; some guess that he was an alcoholic, while others suggest that he may have committed suicide (Quinn).

In 1994 a report by the Mollen commission on police corruption in New York exposed disproportionate corruption within the department. Violent crime, including gang type activity, cops in uniform routinely storming drug locations and stealing narcotics, money weapons and whatever they felt like taking. On duty police officers riding alongside drug dealers, providing protection while the dealers carried big amounts of drugs and cash. The commission also found cops who became drug dealers themselves starting up their own drug dealing networks and delivery centers. (Neighborhood Explanations) Although most officers are honest and hard-working, the Mollen report exposed serious, violent activity by some in the department.

What is police misconduct? It can be defined as any action performed by a law enforcement officer that is unethical by established employment guidelines, unconstitutional, or a crime with in itself. When people hear the term “police misconduct” they automatically think of a police officer using unnecessary force against a civilian. While that is a form of police misconduct it is not only form. Throughout this paper I will bring light to the many types of police misconduct that can happen in the law enforcement industry.

On Sunday, November 5, 2017 at approximately 7:26 AM, I, Officer Raul Marrero and Ryan Holroyd were dispatched to 820 SE 9th Ct, in reference to a suspicious vehicle complaint. Dispatch advised of a white Pontiac car that was parked in the driveway. The complainant/homeowner, James Robert Caves Sr., didn 't know who the vehicle belonged to.

What are the standards in Police Ethics? By definition it is the Rules of conduct recognized in respect to police actions when dealing with a class of people, person or a particular group, culture, etc. In all the research I have done, books, articles and research papers I have read, I am hard pressed to find an ethicist without a political agenda or pure racist opinion, who believes that the policies should stand as written.
