I am very grateful that the Trustees of the Harold Ferguson Scholarship have approved the renewal of the Harold Ferguson scholarship. The Harold Ferguson Scholarship will help me greatly in my upcoming sophomore year at Rutgers due to the nature of my classes and therefore am very appreciative. I apologize for not including my current address, which is: 105 Gregory Avenue Apt. D-10, Passaic, NJ, 07055. Furthermore, I feel disadvantaged as a result of my lack of volunteering experience this past year and understand the importance of giving back to the community; hence, I will soon start volunteering at Clara Maass Medical Center in Bellevile, NJ (currently in the application process) on a weekly basis to gain experience for my future in medicine
Growing up, I have always loved to help people in need, so when I entered high school I put all of my focus towards medical classes. My experience with medical classes were amazing. However, to my surprise and joy, I found out that TAMIU started to offer the degree plan of my choice, so I decided to stay in Laredo and attend TAMIU. The Oscar M. Laurel Scholarship will be a huge help to fund my tuition, books, and gas. Coming from a middle class family, I understand that every cent counts and this scholarship will be a great help to insure my

Thank you for the opportunity to apply for this unique scholarship. This award shows me that you recognize your alumni as being vital to the campus. I’ve had a long family history with your school. My great grandmother Florence Wilson attended the former Platteville State Teacher College and taught a year before marrying my great grandfather. My grandfather, Kenneth Wilson, attended the University of Wisconsin Platteville and studied agriculture. His education was beneficial in his career in farming. He needed to leave school after two years in order to work full time on the farm and to raise seven children. Three of his children attended UW-Platteville. My uncle Kurt Wilson started teaching physical education in Lodi after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He is still enjoying his job there. My mother, Lynette Wilson (Potter) received a Bachelors of Science degree in Art and a Masters of Science in Counselor Education. She has had many creative positions and has worked with a variety of people over the years. Her artwork has been published in national magazines as well as local papers. She was dedicated to her job working with the developmentally
I should receive the Lucile Gustafson Scholarship because I have demonstrated a high excellence in scholastic achievement throughout high school and continue to do so at Waubonsee Community College. Throughout my senior year of high school, I have completed 17 college credits through Waubonsee’s duel credit program, all of which, I received A’s. I am currently taken 11 credits this semester though Waubonsee so I can start the nursing program this fall. Furthermore, I exhibit leadership in the participation of clubs. For example, when I was a Freshmen Seminar leader I lead a group of 25 freshmen and helped them learn about high school. I have shown outstanding citizenship by volunteering at Alden Garden of Waterford Assisted Living for the last three years, every Friday for four hours. I help with activities such as manicures, leading card games, and helping with special events such as dressing up as the Easter Bunny and setting up decorations for Christmas. I have participated in many volunteer events through school like helping a forest preserve by planting butterfly garden through Science National Honor Society. I also tutor the subject of English monthly through National English Honor Society. Hence, I am determined to give back to the community and further achieve in academics and leadership. I am highly motivated to accomplish the goals set before
This scholarship was a huge blessing to my family as I would have not able to come to Marist College otherwise. I’m grateful for the chance to attend to college without having to worry about my finances. I would like to thank the Duet family for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime.
I am sincerely honored to have been selected as a recipient of the Henry J. Predolin Scholarship. Since being named one of the recipients of the Henry J. Receiving this scholarship will help reduce my financial burdens and provide assistance for me as I continue pursuing my education.
Our regional selection committee hopes that you have made application to the University of Virginia, notwithstanding the availability of a Jefferson Scholarship.
My commitment to service was also recognized by Cook County Sheriff, Tom Dart, when I received the Sheriff Tom Dart Youth Service Award; however, this is not about me. For those that have dedicated their lives to service, understand the commitment to continue the fight in helping others and always reaching back. I remain resolute and will continue working diligently until I reach my collegiate and career goals. I will continue to improve my own community’s quality of life by doing volunteer work. This scholarship will assist me in obtaining some of the necessary school materials enabling me to continue to work hard academically. I am hopeful to become one of your foundation’s scholarship recipients, so that I can continue on my pathway graduating college and pursuing my dreams of attending medical school to become a successful
This scholarship will help me get a head start in college. It will also help me to reach my career goals in the medical field.
As I finish up my first year of medical school at TTUHSC, continued scholarship support will help me focus on my medical studies during my second year and decrease my eventual loan burden when I am a practicing physician. Also, I am currently a dual degree MD/MBA student, and as I receive my two degrees, I know that the value I receive from the knowledge gained would be put to greater use with the scholarship and the financial support that it provides. I greatly appreciate the support that TTUHSC SOM and the generous alumni provide to all of its students.
As a 17-year-old senior at Bessemer City High, I am truly honored to have a chance to apply for the Ora H. Foster community Service Scholarship. Growing up I have always had a passion for community service. I love the feeling of helping others, without expecting anything in return. For about 2 years now, I have been involved in a number of clubs and community activities. I am involved SGA (Student Government Association), Beta Club, and National Technical Honors at my school, and have done volunteer work for councilmen Cynthia S. Donald. Whenever I am available, I try to be a part of any community service project activities in or outside of school. I also hold down a part-time job at Zaxbys as a cook, where I have an opportunity to learn
