For years people do their driving tests at the age of at least 16, and most likely will go to driving school to learn the rules and regulations of the road, and how to actually drive. By the time self-driving cars come around, all those driving schools will be useless because the cars will do all the work and the person does not even need to be aware of it. Also, will the legal driving age still be 16 or will it change? What will determine when a person is able to get inside an autonomous car, press a few buttons and let the car do the rest? If a human is not behind the wheel, there will be no reason to stop for diesel or food while the truck is on the highway. It will have an effect on business that truck drivers stop at on a day to day basis. Self-driving trucks will have a negative impact on the economy.
