Many people stand behind the fact that video games do help people and kids in the development of their brain, while other people do not. The argument based around the idea that video games help the development of people or not has been going on for a long time. Different stories come up on how people are getting seriously harmed while playing video games, but there are other stories coming up about the positives about playing video games. One side believes that playing video games hinders the development of a child’s brain. Also, they believe the more violent video games we see on the markets today cause children to be violent and lash out on family. On the other side of the argument though, scientists go deep in to their research on how video games help the development of the human brain and the positive effects it can have for people long-term. Also, on the same side of the argument video games can be used for educational purposes. This argument has valid points on both sides, while they have good reasoning behind them.
To start off, I made a spread sheet full of statistics in the program Excel. I listed ten of the leagues top players to calculate their averages and standard deviations in points, assists, offensive and defensive rebounds. To do this I just used the Excel function. The players I used were Kevin Durant, Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Stephen Curry, Kobe Bryant, Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul, James Harden, and Anthony Davis. I chose these specific players based on numbers, age, position, contract, salary and popularity. From there in each category in the
Video Games and the Video Game Industry The video game Pong was introduced in 1972 and can be considered the beginning of the video gaming industry. As technology moves forward, there is more information that needs to be preserved and carried on to the future besides books, websites, and databases. Just like technology changes so does culture where values, beliefs, and behaviors of a community continue to grow. The past few decades, videogames and online videos is subject that has grown to be part of many cultures. Some organizations do not believe that videogames and online videos are not part of valuable culture development that is worth being archived and to not want to participate in the process. The purpose of this paper is to argue that videogames and online videos need to be archived to represent the change within our culture. This point will be demonstrated with three articles.
The function of a video game is to entertain billions of players around the world. This does not mean that they are good, some gamers are just so bliss sometimes not to realize how major of an influence an inanimate object has on them. This inquires the justification that games cause people to act in a distasteful manner. That means games are harmful to the human body and can cause side effects. They are unable to tell the difference between reality and videogames. This said games are evil because they cause people to hurt others and themselves. Also many controversies were caused because of videogame.

Guns blazing, grenades exploding, humans dying and being badly hurt by knives, pistols, and swords, all animated on ones T.V. that the player controls. Videogames range from jumping on mushrooms, to sprinting through a city, to eating enemies to gain their abilities, to catching and training magical animals to drive one 's way to victory. however there are some that aren’t the classic, colorful, and happy videogames people are used to hearing about. Some of them are violent, ranging from shooting up a squad group like the player is in World War II, to slicing and dicing enemies with a greatsword for XP. These games are growing popular causing much controversy and bringing in many new franchises. Is this necessarily commendable, and
The major publishing and development houses in video games seem to be running out of ideas – at least, in the eyes of the gaming community (Community.us.playstation.com 2014). Every year, the market gets more and more saturated with sequels for games. (IGN 2015) These can be relatively innocent games, like those in the Mario franchise (or, indeed, much of the Nintendo universe); they can be more problematic games, like the Call of Duty franchise, infamous for having players much younger than the ESRB rating of Mature would recommend; and they can be expansions on previous games, like World of Warcraft or Hearthstone.(Hewitt, 2015)(Kotzer, 2014) The reason behind this is largely economic – most video game companies want to ‘play it safe,’
Video Games: The Blame Game Joan Jett’s song, “I don’t give a damn bout my bad reputation” may seem to express the sentiment of the video game industry. Despite being accused of impairing academic achievement, leading to obesity, and contributing to violent behavior, the video game industry continues to market to children and to create an increasing number of violent games. Gamers are said to be isolated, antisocial, and lazy. It appears that this billion dollar industry has a blatant disregard for the public’s wellbeing. However, the negative reputation of the video game industry and the stereotype of gamers is not accurate. The video game industry has been blamed for enabling a sedentary lifestyle, even though they have created fitness games targeting health conscious gamers to engage in physical activity. Playing video games is also blamed for diverting students’ attention away from academics even though many video games are created that focus on education. The violent video games are blamed for leading to violent behavior despite the lack of scientific evidence. Not only is there a lack of evidence that video games cause detrimental effects to players, but there is actually evidence to the contrary. Although many people believe that playing video games can be harmful, playing video games can be beneficial to the player because they can improve your health, mental capabilities, and behavior.

Video games are great because it helps people with teamwork and communication skills. Some of the most popular video games are first person shooters. These games put you into a simulation of war where you see through the eyes of a soldier. This makes it so you feel like you are in the game of war which can be very exhilarating and fun. Two video games of this genre stand out in my mind, and they are the Battlefield Series and the Call of Duty Series. They are both the top sellers in their style of games and if you ask a random teenager, he will know exactly what you are talking about. The thing about these two though are the conflicting sides of the people who buy them. These games both have millions of fans that argue for their game of choice but some of them are wrong, and this is why.
