Soldiers in the 23 RCT displayed disciplined initiative on many occasions. Before the battle at Chipyong-ni, the division medical battalion decided that they would no longer send ambulances into forward deployed areas to evacuate wounded Soldiers and that it was the responsibility of the units in those areas to move the casualties to the rear. The regimental surgeon's recommendation to re-designate the regimental collecting stations as regimental clearing stations circumvented the division's policy. Using modern terms, this would be like designating the Casualty Collecting Point as the Ambulance Exchange Point. Division did not argue with COL Freeman's decision and provided the ambulances.

To secure patient privacy, most of the groups, except for the “What’s Cookin’?” session, the group will be facilitated in the occupational therapy room, free of noise and other distractions. For the past few years in America, the people have seen how much education has decreased in the country. The people are not educated well enough in a specific subject, and that is the biggest problem in society. Students go to school five days a week, and they take some classes that honestly are not needed nor will be needed in the future. If someone wants to be a Psychiatrist, why do students need to know what X is in an Algebra 2 problem? Students should take the classes and courses needed to pursue the students wanted career and not just a class to take up their time and effort.

Unearthed skulls dating back to 6500 BCE have been discovered by archeologists to have large holes drilled into the sides of them. The shutdown of state mental hospitals and lack of available financial and institutional resources force mentally ill people to the United States Judicial System for mental health. Every year thousands of people are arrested for various crimes and they are sent to jail. Sixteen percent of these people have some type of mental health problem (Public Broadcasting System , 2001). When we consider that the United States has the largest incarcerated population in the world at 2.2 million, this number is staggering (Anasseril E. Daniel, 2007). This is about 1% of the entire population of the United States. There are many reasons as to why the situation has taken such a bad turn and when the history of the treatment of mental illness is examined one can see how the situation developed into the inhumane disaster it is today.
When I have sat in the doctors, when I have sat with a psychiatrist, when I have sat with a therapist, I seem sufficiently able to address the issues that I am there for. Visiting a professional, with a view to them helping you, does not help me. The prognosis sits on the table like a beer-mat being picked at by the disinterested talker who speaks from a script. Intelligence, rationality and commonsense cannot save the possessed mind.
The study of the mind, psychiatry, has in the last few years struck an interest within me. I wonder why we react differently when we face the same obstacles. For example, families with several children, raised by the same parents and in the same environment, yet turn out to be completely different individuals, sometimes very disturbed. The how, why and where of it all interests me. My immediate goal is to get my diploma and find out who I really am and what my soul desire truly is. I realize I have a deep desire to be of service to others. This is not a skill however, it's just me. I do feel one of my strongest skills is my artistic ability. I have a taste for and enjoy a diverse selection of movies, music, and reading material. I enjoy
