“Penn and Teller” conducted an experiment that measured the satisfaction of a personality description that was written out for every individual in a classroom. The general response was that of a positive reaction to the description, meaning that majority of the students deemed their report to be fair and relatively reflective of their personality. The professor then revealed to the class that each student had received the same description with no variation whatsoever. This experiment exposes modern astrology and horoscope work for what it really is. A large blanket personality statement that majority of the population will accept as true. Modern astrology will take a generalization and dole it out to any uneducated reader of a gossip column or newspaper. The reader is amazed by the accuracy and continues to buy into the concept of astrology.
