The definition of Morality according to the Oxford Dictionary “Principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behaviour” (Oxford Dictionary, 2015). This say that morality is the difference between behaviours. The definition of a debate “A discussion, as of a public question in an assembly, involving opposing view point” (Dictionary Reference, 2015). Debate is when a number of people have different view points o a certain thing.
Psychodynamic approach is behaviour determined by the unconscious mind and forces. This is the instincts and impulses you are born with and interactions from within the unconscious mind and past experience. All of these behaviours are stored in the pre consciousness. Nature is the idea that every child is born with their behaviours fixed and that they are inherited by their parents. DNA/Genes is another cause of behaviour and a child’s morals. Depending on the parents the child could have good moral development but could go the other way if their parents have a negative outlook on life. Nurture says the child is born as a blank slate and they learn the behaviours from peers, parents and siblings. None of the behaviours and morals are pre-determined, therefor if the child is brought up in a family where the parents are excessive drinkers and use foul language a lot, this could determine the child growing up thinking that this is the correct way to act, and could determine them to follow that path of life. Whereas on the other hand they could go polar opposite as they know by society how their parents are living isn’t a good way to live.
