Since ninth grade I have had a fervent passion for psychology and I aspire to become a therapist. I originally picked communications as my major because I assumed it would be a cheaper way to a stable income. I let my self doubt, fear of student debt, and my financial status prevent me from pursuing my dream. I have been completely enamored with learning Psychology, it fills me with excitement and joy within the moments I have the opportunity to get engaged with it in some form on campus. I find that I am being pulled from my engagement on campus towards other areas of study such as Political Science and Sustainability. The field of psychology is so broad. Many people assume psychology is just counseling, and yes that is true but that is only a small part in the bigger world. It can be from counseling children and adults, to case workers, school teachers, researchers, animal advocates, and even working for corporate offices. There are so many opportunities nowadays for people with a psychology degree. First, I will present the life of an adolescent development researcher, then a forensic psychologist.
