M2- compare two approaches to health and social care.
Chose two different approaches and compare each theory to a health care setting and also a social care setting explain how it works in health care compared to social care.
Example of behaviourist in health and social care – classical conditioning can be used in a hospital to help with an individuals fear by creating a hierarchy of fears starting with their least fear to the most feared. Whereas in a social care setting such as a school or nursery a teacher can classical condition children into tidying up by using an instrument. However Operant condition may not work as efficiently due to an individual having a behavioural condition such as ADHD

This aims to help shape and change an individuals behaviour. You can also link to the certain theory such as – social learning theory links to Bandura's theory as he believed children copy behaviour this is why using high status role models are used to influence individuals behaviours in health and social care.

Write about the strengths for both approaches e.g. A strength of the behaviourist perspective within health and social care is that a therapist can look at why an individual may have a fear or phobia by creating a hierarchy. This is also a strength as it allows a therapist/ nurse to help and encourage an individual who has a phobia which can help the service user to over come their fear. In the conclusion
write about how it can work in health and social care put your opinion in e.g. I believe this perspective can help an individual who has a fear or phobia by seeing why the individual is so scared. I also think that the behaviourist perspective can help measure changes of a behaviour. On the other hand I feel that the behaviourist perspective doesn’t take in the biological perspective. In this assignment I will be writing about two sociological perspectives and discus there patterns and trends of health and illness to two social groups.
This is a case study however if you have experience of any of these in your real practice then you need to include in this piece or evidence for those circumstances below that you can show real practice for describing:
1) List and describe the four functional components of the quad-function model. The four functional components of the quad-function model are financing, insurance, delivery and payment. The importance of financing is to obtain health insurance or to pay for the health care service. Insurance is service that covers the costs or loses incurred when an insured get medical /healthcare services.
A better understanding of a community helps define the variations of healthcare interrelated concerns that exist in that community. Therefore, it is important that when conducting a research, the studied should be on predominant problem or an environment and the conditions should be the subject of the research. A research may include both qualitative and quantitative approaches that have strategical and empirical investigation, exploring the distinctive evidence, from multiple sources of indication, and from preceding development of theoretic claims (Ennals, 2009).
I will receive the data for my capstone project from the hospital that I currently work at and from the sister hospital of my hospital. In the emergency room at the hospital I am currently working at the psychiatric patient do not have a therapeutic environment. However, at the sister hospital the psychiatric patients do have a therapeutic environment. I will compare the number of psychiatric patient that are seen at both hospitals and that have to board in the emergency room. From there I will review the patients outcomes, whether the patient had to be restrained or not and see if there is a difference between having a therapeutic environment and not having a therapeutic environment.
If babies’ bodies grew at the same rapid pace as their brains, they would weigh 170 pounds by one month of age. Once the baby is born learning starts immediately. Humans learn so many different life skills between birth to eight years old, for instance their name, counting, reading, writing, sitting, walking, running, talking, using the bathroom, the alphabet and different colors and shapes. Adults do almost all these abilities without even noticing their doing them. It may not seem very hard to learn the normal abilities but if the abilities weren't taught at a young age when the brain absorbs everything it sees and learns people wouldn't be able to function. Behavior Theory.Behavior Theory can be also allied with Reality Counseling Technique. The most basic assumption of behavior theory is that since feelings, emotions and thoughts are immeasurable, thus, the most effective way to help clients is through observing their behaviors. This can lead the counselor to being able to effectively assist the client (Okun&Kantrowitz, 2008). Behavior theory also stresses that a person is shaped by learning and environment. Heavy emphasis is put on current manners and treatment goals as well as how to change undesirable behaviors. The general aspirations are to increase personal choice and to create new conditions for learning. An aim is to eliminate maladaptive behaviors and to replace them with constructive patterns (Corey & Corey, 2011).
