The movie High Noon written by Carl Foreman and the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” by Rich Connell are both really good stories that contain a fairly different plot, but they also have some similarities. High Noon is about Will Kane, who is a Marshal in a town called Hadleyville. He is a brave character that doesn’t stand down. He recently got married to a Quaker, but conflict appears when Frank Miller, who is the man Kane sent to jail, is coming back to town. Also he has trouble swearing in deputies and has to fight Frank and his gang alone.

The establishment of slavery in America was used for the economy; it was used since the European settled the colonies in America. The main goal to bring slaves was for them to produce goods, and the source of slavery was from the African continent. This system was used first by Africans themselves, it had some differences like it was not based on skin color, it was not a permanent status and it was not heritage status. In Africa colonies used to capture weaker colonies and use the captured people and use them as indenture servants, meaning that eventually their status as servants or slaves would end. When slaves were brought to America their status was permanent and their status was based on skin color, so only people of black color would be slaves. As slavery developed the color of skin became important. Once they were captured and sell to the European they were consider property.

In the history of the United States, it is known that slavery originated during the colonization of the New World. As more western territories were acquired from the Louisiana Purchase, people began to expand west as it was justified by the Manifest Destiny. With the availability and desire to colonize the new lands, slaves became more of a necessity especially in the Southern territories. As slavery sparked controversy between the Northern and Southern states, there was no solution to be found that satisfied the nation and was unable to prevent secession of states. The establishment of slavery brought unforeseen consequences and can be argued as the principle cause of the Civil War.

Farming, sewing, and taking care of livestock were just a few responsibilities that were left to slaves during the 1600 's. White families received all of the benefits from the work done, yet they rarely had to lift a finger, unless it was to correct a slave. Today 's generation reads about slavery and regards it as morally wrong. While I agree that slavery was one of America 's greatest wrongdoings, it paved the way for America as we know it today.

All in all, the reasons for slavery is to get the slaves to do all of the hard work. Some hard work that they did was farmed crops and picked cotton for clothes for people to wear. They also cooked and cleaned for their owners. Another thing they did was if they tried to escape they would be killed. These are great reasons why slaves did what they had to do.

What was the purpose of slavery from the earliest colonial times until 1865? Well, as we all know, slavery existed in the United States during the early colonial times. While this was going on you had millions of women, men, including children who were being stripped or should I say disproved mostly from all their basic rights. Once they became slaves, they automatically had given up their rights to have freedom nor did they have the right to obtain any kind of power.
