All throughout my career in high school I have been told we are learning things to better prepare us for the lives we are going to lead. Also we are told that we are preparing for college as well in terms of the information we are required to learn. With that in mind I have tried to keep more practical things in mind when going about my learning and I have tried to pick classes that would challenge me and allow me to grow in some way. When looking at the future in terms of what I would like to continue learning or what I want to start learning there are a lot of different things that come to mind. First and foremost I want to learn things that I can use in my everyday life in the form of a job or something else and I want to be challenged by
I figured it was confusion due to miscommunication. I accepted the position with the intensions of committing my efforts to a group of 25 for the year and hopefully throughout their High School Careers. Please send me a job description of the director position. I will be in town from June 30 through July 4th.I know this is an extended Holiday weekend, but I'd love the opportunity to sit down and talk. Looking forward to working with you and the RTB
Finding a career is something that can take a long time to establish, so the earlier students can start thinking of their career goals the better off they will be when it comes to actually having to make those decisions. As a school counselor, I have decided to start a career exploration unit for 8th grade students. In this career exploration unit, I plan to use the skill profiler from career one step. This program will help students identify their skills and match different occupations based on their skill sets.
As a senior, you have a lot on your mind. To try and keep up with all the plans you are making, you will need to stay organized. Setting goals for the future will keep your mind on track and help maintain focus. These goals will be centered on your future, specifically school and post-high school life.
When I reached the ending years of high school I hadn’t yet known completely what I wanted to make a career out of nor had I chosen what I wanted to study in college or even what college I wanted to attend. When I finally figured out my future it was then that I had realized what bad shape my resume was in. I wasn’t the type to join any clubs because none interested me (excluding the culinary arts club) and I didn’t have any amazing academic accomplishments because school didn’t interest me. However that doesn’t mean I had nothing, I had challenges I had endured, responsibilities which built my character, and a growing ambition in the world of business.
Toward the last weeks of Jr. High, my interest in the arts, shattered, what I wanted, will never be accepted, so why try; acting, singing, writing, that is what I dreamed. Factory work, this is how you will survive, preached constantly. Determined not to focus a career in that direction, I thought, Airline Stewardess, traveling away seemed fitting, I couldn’t wait, and then the worst happened. Close to enrolling in High School, mentally set toward this career, until crossing paths with one of my older siblings, on the way walking to the store. Stopping me he inquired, “I hear you’re going to start high school, what do you want to be?”
My high school career has been full of amazing experiences. During these four years, I found something that is created many of these amazing experiences. Theater. I have put in four years of my life into theater, and I will put in another four when I go to college.Theater has helped shaped me into who I am now. Now I can push away my anxiety and nervousness so I can focus on what’s really important. I have learned to be a great leader, and to assert myself into certain positions that others would find uncomfortable. I learned to be more of an assertive person, able to take and give orders better than before. I’m a reliable person alway there when you need help. I have learned to be very attentive. If I am paying attention then I am more likely
Despite being a soccer player and casual runner, I have rather abysmal balance. Consequently, I find myself in the ER more than I would like for my less than graceful coordination. Nonetheless, there is one thing I find in common no matter what hospital, ER, or health care center I go to: the sincerity and diligence of the nurses working there. My high school career has tailored my interest and helped me find my path through learning about the healthcare field and admiring the dedication and hard work nurses take to get there. Currently, I am taking EMT I/II which empowers me to learn about a topic I love while becoming a certified EMT. But college is not only about achieving one’s career.
The darkest hour is just before the dawn.” To sum up my college experience in just one phrase, this would be the one. In grade school, outstanding reports are easy to come by. To get a good grade, do your homework, study, pass the tests. Simple. Growing up I always paid close attention to my work to make sure that everything was one hundred and one percent. As my highschool days came to an end, I had to make a choice about college. My mind was filled with ideas and possibilities and I settled on the one I thought would be convienient, easy, and fun. I quickly realized that what seemed to be the uncomparable choice, turned out to be my worst. I slowly began to draw away from my studied due to lack of interest and other personal relations throughout
I have lived in Mountain Grove, Missouri all my life. I attended all years of school in Mountain Grove. I enjoy living in a small town. My friends and I helped get a softball program in our high school, and I played on the team for one year. In High School, I did the A+ program and was able to receive my Associates Degree from MSU-WP at no cost (other than books and small fees). I work on the family farm and also at the college campus in Mountain Grove. I have worked at Shannon Hall for three years as a student worker helping other students with the computers. I have a lot of experience with children and teens. I am the youth director at my church. I also volunteered many hours at the local Juvenile Detention Center. I enjoyed going
I have always been academically talented, however the transition from junior high into the International Baccalaureate program in high school was a great challenge for me. I had become comfortable with the amount of effort necessary to skim by with A's and B's, and consequentially I had no real work ethic or drive to succeed. These two qualities are of tremendous importance for school, especially in regards to honors programs such as IB. I must admit, I did not achieve the grades I expected throughout my freshman and sophomore years, and it wasn't until the second semester of my sophomore year that I even recognized the problem! Thus, at the beginning of my junior year, I set out to change and grow into the student I had the potential to be.
In order to become an auto technician you need to have a high school diploma which is easy to get. Also a secondary school this requires more skill and is harder to do. Employers “prefer mechanics who have been to a post-secondary institution (truity.com). This is helpful to complete because you won’t get hired if you don’t know what you’re working on. It also helps because it can earn you more money and make you have a better chance than at getting that job. A high school diploma is required (truity.com). Almost everyone has a high school diploma and it is easy to get. Requires 1-2 years of experience in the field (payscale.com). This is good so you know everyday jobs that are done and the work environment. I realize that preparing and doing hard work will improve the success of getting a job.
I am looking forward to the new opportunities in the next step in my life, college. I am one of those people that likes to really dig into a problem. When I don’t understand something, it challenges me and pushes me to work through it and overcome it. This applies to not only to my academics, but to everything in my life. As a freshman in high school, I weighed only 75 pounds, I was pretty small for my age. Knowing this would be difficult, my parents challenged me to join the high school wrestling team and I accepted. To explain, the lowest weight class is 106 pounds, I gave up over 30 pounds when I wrestled. While this seemed scary at first, I dug in, worked hard, and didn’t let my size slow me down. I never backed down from a challenge.
What type of classes are easier to learn from: classes that you have no interest in, or classes that you find interesting? 1.2 million students per-year drop out of high school in the U.S alone. (“Volunteer for Social change”) This fact shows us that students find going to school as uninteresting and not useful to their future. Students wouldn’t drop out of school, if they found a purpose in the courses they were taking. Yes, not everything you learn is going to be fun and interesting, but chances are the classes that you find easy to listen to and learn from, are interesting to you. You can take as many courses as you wish, but if you don’t find interest and daydream through them all, what are you getting out of it? High school should be enjoyable, not dreaded. When you love and are passionate what you are learning, the information is much easier to take in. When I get older, I
Throughout my high school career, and especially now as a senior, the question, “Where do you want to be in five to ten years?” has been frequently asked. Soon I decided I wanted to major in Business Administration and one day hold a stable job, preferably in a bank. I remember as a child I’d go into banks with my mom and I would always tell her, “Mamá un día trabajaré aquí,” meaning, “Mom one day I’ll work here.” I figured as a banker one needs to be organized, social, and good at mathematics, which are all qualities that I have. When it comes to papers being organized, I am very meticulous. Managing money and keeping budgets has always been one of my interests, I enjoy exploring options on ways to save money. Either through different bank accounts or by investing in corporations. One of my favorite classes as a senior is economics, we’ve learned about the importance of financial stability and types of insurances. Being one of my favorite classes, I figured I wanted to incorporate this into my everyday life.
As I am currently finishing up my high school career, there are many things that I must complete in the next 30 years, so that I am able to consider my life to be a success. There are definitely some physical achievements that I would like to accomplish, as well as, a well structured career. These achievements include a bachelor’s degree and a well paying job. However, other than materialistic aspects, I personally believe that the relationships that you are able to form with other people prove to be very helpful for the rest of your life. Friendships, family relationships, and mentorships can help you through anytime resulting in powerful support systems and a happier life. Due to both of these aspects, I consider a career with accomplishments and healthy, well-rounded relationships to be the cause of one’s success, in life.
