I am particularly interested in doing laboratory research in the WIMR(Wisconsin Institute for
For the duration of my entire life, I had habitually fantasized about what I could become, what all I could accomplish, and most predominantly, how I could enhance the world in my own way. Over the years I have come to terms with the fact a single person can surely not change the entire world. Thus, my goals shifted from changing the world to something I care about deeply and passionately, which is animals. Accordingly, I have decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. With these goals and aspirations in mind, Madison became my top choice to expedite my knowledge and someday allow me to accomplish these dreams. Madison not only has an exceptional and nationally recognized veterinary program, but it holds both a bustling city feel as

Music gives us a language that cuts across the disciplines, helps us to see connections, and brings a more coherent meaning to our world. I started my interest in music when I joined band in middle school, playing trumpet and then switching to French horn, a more complex instrument, in high school. Upon entering college, I decided I was going to give up my passion for music and focus on academics. However, during my first semester as a Pre-Med student, there was something significant missing in my life; music.

My specific career path within medicine wasn’t always known until after extensive research and exposure which includes clinical/non- clinical volunteering, undergraduate student, research and working as an ER scribe. From these experiences I have been able to advance and develop my knowledge, skills and attributes. Through my ER scribe certification I have been able to personally observe the processes involved in determining a patient's care and their possible outcomes. The efforts made volunteering clinically were very important in developing additional communicative skills with a patient, thus developing a better diagnosis. The concept that structures a successful research are the fundamentals that apply to medicine, beginning with a theory,
As long as I can remember, I have always been interested in medicine as well as technology. Thinking back, I believe my true passion for technology began when I was in elementary and middle school. I spent hours mindlessly attempting to copy programs from computer magazines and eventually learned to code and write my own programs. I spent a lot of time attempting to learn how to program, and when the programs did not run I spent even more hours figuring out the “why” and how to fix it. Little did I know at the time that not all kids my age found this activity a huge amount of fun.
In four years, I see myself graduating from Western Illinois University and starting my journey of medical school. As of now, I have not come to a final decision on what I would like to focus on in medical school, but I have been thinking about physical therapy, gynecology, or a type of surgery. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to be in the medical field. It started as wanting to be a veterinarian, but in high school, it evolved into working on the human side of medicine. In ten years, I plan to be working in the career I decide on. I will work my way up through the ranks to reach leadership positions within the hospital. I also want to be involved in my community to help enhance those around me. I believe it is important to stay involved
Time is extraordinary, it adds significance to moments and creates memories that will eventually become timeless, worthy, and fulfilling. My timeless moment was an earthquake that occurred on 12 January 2010, in Haiti. During the aftermath I witness the most devastating moment in my life, homes were completely demolished, people were injured, and the country I knew as home became unrecognizable and chaotic. Despite my effort to help, it was at that very enervating 30 seconds I was influenced to do more. As a result, I am a survivor, who took this distressing occurrence and positively used it to help me pursue an educational path in biology. I am filled with fire and determination so that I can continue a career path in the medical field by choosing to become a doctor specializing in medicine.
I have not yet decided on a specific major, but I would like to go into the medical field. I discovered I wanted to go into this field when I shadowed many medical professions such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, and a speech pathologist. I shadowed these people for a total of sixteen hours, this was a very enlightening experience. Furthermore, this is when I truly knew which field I wanted to go into. I did not have a defining moment, I just knew that this career path was the right one for me. Furthering my education will assist me in reaching my goals of becoming a medical professional. Without proper schooling I can not obtain my goals

I am a wife and a mother of 2. Since I was a little girl, I´ve always served my elders taking care of them and giving them medicine whenever they needed to. Two years ago I had a second opportunity to come back to school and with the support of my family, I´m perusing Nursing. I picked this major because I am a volunteer in the cancer institute and it made me realize how I was able to help people. In the future I would like to work
