My current field of study is undecided. The university I plan on attending has a lot of options regarding degrees and I am not sure what to pick. There are many careers I have thought about pursuing. When deciding my degree there are several things that I must keep in mind. The field of study I enter must interest me, it must be in a field where I can make enough money to pay off any student loans, the job field for the degree should be growing or in demand, and I should be able to leave a lasting impression on the world through my career. Some of my current thoughts on majors include: physics, chemistry, biology, and political science. If I am to choose one of the science majors I would like to work in a laboratory, developing new drug treatments
My major is Biology Pre-Med. I chose this particular major because I eventually want to become a doctor. The thing I like about this field is I like helping people; I want to save as many lives as possible.
In recent years, there has been an increasing trend of polarization between the ideologies of the two parties in State Legislatures. This polarization can have wide reaching effects in regards to the policies, or the lack thereof, that are created and passed in state legislatures, and this polarization also impacts state-level elections. The increasing partisanship at the State Level also has an impact in the ease of passing laws, as well as the ability of elected officials to be able to keep their campaign promises and to implement their policy goals. There are many reasons for this trend, though there are a few major reasons that I believe are the root causes of increased polarization in American state legislatures. One of the primary causes
With such a large number of choices, the decision of a career major can appear overwhelming. Do you follow example of your parents? Do you take after the way your friends are taking? What salary will you be paid in this profession? The best approach to discover these responses is by asking individuals who know. Here are approaches to look into and increase encounter in diverse career fields.
I am majoring in graphic design for my associate’s degree. Currently after this semester, I need twenty more credits until I complete my associate’s degree. Once I receive my associates degree, I am looking to transfer to a four year university to major in visual design to become a fashion stylist; during that time, I am hoping to be a part of an internship, studying abroad to learn more skills. Furthermore, once I have achieved in my education, I know I will be successful in pursuing my dream job.
I’ve always heard that the hardest majors are STEM majors, and that they require a lot of time and dedication. Of course, I chose to become apart of the STEM program. However, I was not scared because my love for math and science is incredible. I am majoring in chemistry. I once was very uncertain about what career I wanted to pursue, but after many years I am more than sure what I want to do. With my Bachelor’s degree I plan to become a forensic scientist. I pondered on many careers before I decided on forensic science.
The right career path begins with the right college, and the right college should take me to the right path. I always wondered what I was going to do with my life ever since I was 12 years old. When I turned 14 I wanted to become a video game designer but then I looked into it and learned how much I hated it, how much it wasn’t like playing video games. So as I always told myself “if it isn’t right for you then go with the next thing in life you enjoy.”. So that’s when I started my journey of life mentally, looking to the right career for success. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills or talents needed, salary and benefits offered, and the duties for a particular career when making the decision.
Selecting a college major is an important decision, and it is not one that should be made lightly. It is important to remember, however, that declaring a major is not an irreversible decision. It is not uncommon for college students to change majors one or more times after they enroll in college. Sometimes, you need time, research, and reflection before you can choose a college major. Setting college goals can help you, as can understanding different college majors and how they can move you closer to your goals. Do your research, keep an open mind, and be honest with yourself, and you can choose a college major that
There are many majors out there and tons to choose from. Many students in high school by now have an idea on what they’re interested on becoming. So far, I have no clue on what I want to study, but I do have a picture of it. Choosing a career is one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make in your life. Because of that you have to choose very carefully and make sure whatever you choose will suite you. Whether it’s from engineering or going into the medical field, they all take time. Here I have chosen 5 careers that I myself am very interested on studying after high school.
I intend to be a chemistry major in college. In addition, I hope to make chemistry my career, ultimately obtaining a PhD and becoming a researcher in a laboratory. Both of these are motivated by my passion for chemistry, discovered in sophomore Honors Chemistry and cultivated in AP Chemistry and by studying for the Chemistry Olympiad. Some other careers I might consider, though with less fervor than chemistry for now, include intellectual property (patent lawyer) and chemical engineer.
Some people just go into certain jobs and majors because it has a higher salary, but you need to know that money cannot buy happiness. I would rather go in a career which I love, but make little money then go into something I hate that make a lot of money. If you have to stay in one place for your career then you might want to see how many job opening are there in the area of the major you are considering. Location is a big thing for some careers to. If you want to do a major which got to deal with water, like a Marine Biologist then you need to live near a lot of water, like the coast. Internships are a great way to start getting experience for careers. If possible, you should always try to get an internship before you go into a career, because you get to know what it is like. If you don't like the internship job, then you probably wont like the career either. Doing a major with animals, like biology, or zoology, you should do an internship at a zoo or animal clinic. These are all great things to think about when deciding on your job for a major.
So, if your major doesn’t matter, how do you choose? I think if you consider your passion and interests, as well as job prospects (but don’t obsess over them) you are setting yourself up for success. If you choose a liberal arts degree, prepare yourself for some unfair scrutiny. Our society tends to cut the value of some degrees, such as the liberal arts.
Factors to be considered are salaries, what will I start off with? What degree do I need to earn what I actually want? What am I good at? For sure the decision is complicated. Throughout this essay, we have compiled the three most popular fields of study chosen by college students.

I have a struggle in my life that is keeping me from achieving my goals. This struggle has hindered me from moving forward further in my life towards success. My particular struggle was not having my high school diploma, and without a diploma I was not where I wanted to be in my life . Nevertheless, something so simple as not passing a math test has hindered me from receiving a high school diploma. From that point on I was not where I wanted to be and I worked as a security for about a year. Then I moved on to working as a bus driver for the Broward County School board for eight years . During that time , my first child had now graduated from high school and earned his diploma . My daughter is a honor student who has a good grade point average
Frequently, nuclear energy is used for commercial use across the globe. In fact, there are over 440 commercial nuclear power reactors operable in 31 countries. They each have over 390,000 MWe of total capacity and about 60 more reactors are under construction (Engelbrecht, H., Komarov, K. and Rising, A, n.d.). Nuclear energy is defined as the energy released during nuclear fission/fusion, especially when used to generate electricity ( Dictionary.com, LLC. n.d.). The many uses of nuclear energy include improving food production, plant mutation breeding, and/or insect control (Engelbrecht, H., Komarov, K. and Rising, A, n.d.). There are many positive and negative impacts of nuclear energy. Some negative impacts are that if used improperly, nuclear energy could be used as a weapon of mass destruction and it can be very unsafe and expensive. On the other hand, nuclear energy has the potential to help with the environment and things like climate change as well as supply over half of the electricity consumed around the world so not using it would be a waste since it helps more than people might think. This brings up the debate of whether or not nuclear energy is justified for commercial use.
