On the whole, the 8 weeks summer internship spent in QBG Contacting Company was a useful experience. It was an eye-opener to how real engineering tasks are dealt with and the exposure to both on-field and office work. I have gained new knowledge, skills and met new people. I achieved several of my training goals. …. Through the training, I have gain an exposure to systematic work coordination in an environmental that is conductive…. In addition, the internship was a good to find out what my strength and my weaknesses are. This helped me to know what knowledge and skills I have to improve in future.
During an internship you would want to learn about the business that you are interning for. You wouldn’t want your experience to just be about answering phone and pushing papers. My time that I have spent thus far interning in the Athletic Department has not been a waste of time. I have learned that even though the Athletic Department is part of the school, it is still operated as a normal business. Also, I have learned that is very important that every
After speaking to people, I often had a time to reflect on what I heard. The product was a much greater understanding of the complexity of the American political system. I grew up thinking that that one side was right, and the other was full of irrational arguments. However, people sharing bits of their lives with me taught me that is not true. The support and opposition for every policy makes sense, and deciding which is right is far more of a value judgment than a facts-based judgment than I could have imagined. I feel less sure about what I believe politically after the internship, but again, I do not think that is a bad thing. For the first time, I know how to enter into a thought process without a bias, and able to listen to both sides. This skill is critical for any studies or career in the social sciences.
The quiz was fairly easy. I read though the documents a couple of times and I managed to get a 19/20. We did get a couple of extra days to study due to snow days and delays. This was in terms of support was somewhat slow. Most of the problems were just as simple as a force shutdown. Also, I helped Mrs. Chase startup the desktops for the PLTW rooms as well as getting the serial numbers off each laptop in the vault.
What was missing or disappointing, if anything, about this internship? What was especially rewarding and educational?
This internship experience at Superdome Sports has allowed me to build on many skills needed to develop my professional career. For starters, it has given me the opportunity to effectively communicate with peers and professionals, both orally and in writing. My responsibilities included a lot of communication with the customers at the front desk, where I helped them with any questions or issues they may have had. I was able to build my customer service skills by helping them in the best possible way with the most clear and correct answers. I also worked with many employees. It was my responsibility to clearly communicate the schedule for the week as well as the staff schedule for the counselors. Not only that, but whenever there was a
The main task of my internship was to gain more experience and knowledge of our respective field. Overall, the experience proved to be both enjoyable and rewarding. During this internship I used the skills that I learned from my Medical Assistant class and used them in the real world scenarios at the hospital. Also while I there I was exposed to new experiences. Such as performing Urine test on Drug and alcohol patients. For this procedure I had to stand in the restroom with the patient's and watch them urinate into a cup. I had to stand in the restroom with the patients because in the past they try and cheat the system. For example
Within this reflective journal I intend to analyse my work within the unit BA1b. I started this unit inspired to improve as much as possible.
However, one great thing that I would say is this internship made me realize that I have a great interest for medicine particularly in the dermatology industry. It is a very
When the therapist checked in regards the client's behavior and symptoms, since the last week, the client reported that he feels happy and calm 2-3 times during the week because nothing bad happened during the last week and he is enjoying being in session as well as talking about himself during the session as he is able to share his thoughts and feelings with the therapist. The client added that he is happy also because he is keeping himself busy as he went to the college this week for five days per week from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm. The client reported that he feels tired and sleepy 2-3 times a week because he has to wake up early to get ready for the school and take the bus to the school and take the bus again after school as he is spending 8
This week’s reading material open my eyes about how the environment affects an individual’s way of life and most importantly health. It is easy to read about a situation in a textbook or newspaper but hard to fully grasp the living conditions and health risk to other countries face. By thinking outside the box the scrapbook project began; giving the citizens in Glascow disposable cameras to document their day to day experiences. These photographs can shed new light on conditions within the community and allow them to express issues that are important. Without truly living there we are unable to understand what these individuals face, but these photographs are a starting place. The local development team is using the thoughts and opinions of the community to help change their living conditions and ultimately improve their citizen’s health.
I was able to be successful in this internship because I had to utilize and develop many new skills. I used my interpersonal skills such as: coping strategies; peer relationships and effective social skills; communication, problem-solving techniques, decision-making, conflict resolution, how to work in a team, where everyone depends on each other and a lot of patience. I developed many new skills such as multitasking, problem solving/decision making, and leadership qualities. I learned that I am a role model. It is important to develop a good relationship with students; however, I must keep in mind that I am expected to behave myself in a professional manner at all times. I also learned some of the important skills of a teacher such as: how to provide direct instructions, clarify content, teach skills and answer the students questions; help students identify their skills, abilities, and long term plans regarding education and personal problems.
An internship can also heighten the awareness of community issues, motivates to create opportunities, embrace new ideas, and give direction to positive change. A successful internship can provide valuable information in making decisions about the direction of future studies or employment. An internship is an opportunity to not only use and develop industry-related knowledge and skills, but also to enhance some of the skills that are transferable to any professional work setting. For some people, the internship is the first introduction to the world of work. No matter where the skills and understanding of professionalism lie, internship is a chance to develop them even further.
One aspect that I enjoyed least about my internship was on somedays my job was to be a telemarketer and call local area businesses. It is safe to say I am not the greatest when it comes to pick up the phone and calling random businesses to try and sale products. I enjoy face-to-face communication where I can personally be one-on-one with an individual. It is difficult sometimes because you cannot read what the person is trying to say based on their tone of
Typically, internships are professional experiences that students participate in to gain professional skills and experiences. In this particular experience at Accounting Firm X I did in fact gain substantial professional skill while participating in new and challenging experiences. Internships allow in- class material to come to life in a practical manner. My internship did do this but not in a way that I had planned.
For this experience I obtained through my final year project, in which I need to design and manufacture a simple device. I may need to use some tools I had never use before such as the electric drill. That project is basically about wave energy converter. This experience broaden my knowledge about engineering as general and allows me to learn things that I cannot obtained in class such as real engineering design experience where I need to planed, drew and even manufactured my own design with the help of workshop during my final year project, while in this internship I experience firsthand how to manage and checking an ongoing project in such a huge scale and also how a team should work in big group compared to a small group of 4-5 people in class.
