Qualitative research explains, describes and characterizes the subject of investigation by focusing on words rather than numbers. It mainly collects the non-numerical data to describe a problem and helps to create ideas for further research. In qualitative research, data are collected through focus groups, interviews, direct observation or evaluation of archival material such as newspapers. Qualitative research has a qualitative dimension and relies on the background and context to analyze data. In this study, researchers are interested in understanding the meaning people have constructed, that is, how people make sense of their world and the experiences they have in the world. Though a qualitative research, a wide array of dimensions of the social world can be explored, including the texture and weave of everyday life, the understandings, experiences and imaginings, or our research participants, the ways that social processes, institutions, discourses or relationships work, and the significance of the meanings that they generate. Qualitative research involves an explanatory, naturalistic approach to the world. This means that qualitative researchers study things in their natural settings, attempting to make sense of, or to interpret, phenomena in terms of the meanings people brings to them (Pennsylvania State University, 2016).
A qualitative study can be planned and executed by following the steps mentioned below. A study on pollution issue was planned based on these steps.
According to Schneider, Elliot, LoBiondo-Wood & Haber (2004), qualitative research methods, search for the meaning and understanding of human experiences in a naturalistic setting. A researcher obtains subjective facts in order to explore the experiences of each participant (Schneider, Elliot, LoBiondo-Wood & Haber 2004). As a result, qualitative research is a means in which a researcher gains an insight into the participant's point of view concerning their personal experiences; in order gain an understanding of the information given. Therefore this allows a researcher to collect subjective information to create a description of the phenomenon (Vishnevsky & Beanlands 2004).

Qualitative analysis can be benefical for athletes of all different ages,sizes, and levels. Qualitative analysis allows for one to analyze the movement patterns of the athlete with the goals of improving performance and decreasing risk of injury. This technique uses no numerical data, but focues more on the verbal cues of the athletes body (Johnson and Baur, 2015). Although a qualitative analysis uses no numerical data, there are many important steps to recording a valid analysis. In order to record a valid analysis, one must have thoroghly understand the skill being analyzed, seek out scientfic literature regarding the mechanics of the skill, and undestand that all athletes are all different (Johnson and Baur,2015).

It forms a report with pictures and words. The results were that the low calorie group had more awareness of the nutritional information than the high calorie group.
