Quarterback (QB) –He calls the plays, initiates action and handles the “snap.” o The Quarterback position requires speed and agility/ quickness in the sagittal and frontal planes, power for running and throwing, hand-eye coordination, quick reaction time, rotational power for throwing, acceleration for scrabbling in the pocket, and muscle endurance. Running Back (RB) – Also known as the Halfback. o The Running Back position requires speed and agility/ quickness in the sagittal and frontal planes, power for running, hand-eye coordination for catching the ball, quick reaction time, psychological endurance, and acceleration for quick sprints. Fullback (FB) – Like a heartier version of the RB, but in the modern game usually more of a lead blocker out of the backfield. o The Fullback position requires power for blocking, quick reaction time, strength, speed and agility, and acceleration for quick sprints. Offensive Line – There are five offensive linemen. In order from left to right, Left Tackle (LT), Left Guard (LG), Center (C), Right Guard (RG) and Right Tackle (RT). o The Offensive Lineman require strength and power (out of a squat position), reaction time, acceleration for quick sprints, and muscular endurance. Tight End (TE) –Hybrid between a receiver and an offensive lineman. o The Tight End position requires strength and power, reaction time, hand-eye coordination, acceleration for quick sprints, and speed and agility/ quickness in the sagittal and frontal
